I guess you're conceding the point that LF doesn't get good separation?

If it matters, sure.

As nyc mentioned, if he is going to average 1000+ yards, 8 TDs, 80+ catches a year, what does it matter if he gets seperation? Why would switching environments or teams adversely change how he gains that top-tier production, be it fighting for the ball or running away from CBs?

Wasn't it the 'breakaway' speed, "homerun threat" stuff why everyone originally said JJ was as good or better than Barber? Who produced?

I think a lot of LF's production, too, BTW. I also thought a lot of CP's production in Denver, but it has slipped since he was traded to Washington.
Fitz would be going to a better overall offense and QB. If anything, his numbers should improve.

What the hell are you talking about? Are you freakin on drugs? There is something wrong with you or you're just a hater.

Larry Fitzgerald has been in the league four years. Over those four year he has averaged 1,136 yards per season. How many freakin receivers in this league have averaged 1,000+ yards every f'in season they've been in the league? Did I also mention he averages 8.5 TDs per season? How about the 82.5 receptions per season?

Get off the dope cause you're spreading stupid. :bang2:

Because he will play in a system in which he has a running game and other receivers to share the balls so his production would go down. In AZ, they use the short passing game to substitute for a running game so a lot of his catches are short catches in soft zones. He won't get that luxury in Dallas. People don't realize that Larry had the "Sterline Sharpe" situation in AZ.

We are discussing what is best for us not what is the best type of receiver. Fitzgerald is a great overall receiver but he is a possession type and we have that type of guy in TO, we need another guy who will keep secondaries playing back to open up plays underneath. Larry will help this team but we would pay a lot for him. I would rather get a guy like Roy Williams who will be cheaper and would open opportunities for us by keeping secondaries honest

I don't know, it's not my argument. I guess the point was made by jameswoods earlier in the thread, something about not demanding double coverage probably.

Anyway, I'll give it a shot for the sake of discussion.

From my rudimentary understanding of the passing game, I would guess that separation becomes more important in more vertical passing games because it is harder to put the ball in a tight spot on longer throws. Just from casual watching, my impression is that Dallas has a more vertical passing game than Arizona.

As for production, LF has about the same production that Keyshawn Johnson did in his first four years. Per year he has about 6 (81 v 75) more catches, 110 (1136 v 1027) more yards, and 1 (8.5 v 7.75) more TD in a similar number of games played. He is about 3 years younger than KJ at that point in their career.

You are right. I liked his approach better. At least he was honest and not trying to insinuate that he, a Cowboys fan in Syracuse, watches all Cardinals games through Direct TV

The Cards have come out and said Fitz ain't going anywhere.

Aren't too many teams that could take on the kind of salary responsibility.
