Jacobs explains his hatred for Cowboys

IRVING, Texas -- New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has emerged as one of the game's most prolific trash talkers -- and he usually backs it up. The Cowboys are well aware of Jacobs' reputation and they were very diplomatic during Wednesday's open locker room session. On Monday night, Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware told ESPN 103.3 FM that he hated the Giants, and that's all Jacobs needed to hear. On Wednesday, Jacobs explained to the New York media why he hates the Dallas Cowboys:

Q: It seems like when you play the Cowboys every year there seems to be a little trash getting thrown back and forth?

A: Well, the reason I hate the Cowboys so much -- I am going to put me in this, I am going to take my team out of this...The reason I hate the Cowboys so much is because they have so many fans. Everywhere you go, someone is always saying Big D! Go Big D! I don’t want to hear that crap. That’s what makes me hate them.


In my 36 years of living in the Dallas area, I've never heard someone shout, "Go Big D!" But maybe that happens in other locales. Jacobs had barely left the locker room Sunday night when he started poking the Cowboys with a sharp stick. You have to love it.

The Dude has a SB ring.....and he beat the Cowboys, Packers, and Pats to get it.....you would think he would be less hostile and angry.....but no, his bitterness seems to grow on a yearly basis. I feel sorry for the dude. Maybe he has to do all this nonsense to fire himself up, cause deep down inside, he truly loves the star.

Funny, I have never seen a G-nads fan outside of NY. Heck, I never even noticed one inside NYC on my couple of visits there. GO Cowboys!!!!!

Is anyone really surprised at Jacobs response?

I always assumed this was the #1 reason why those who hate the Cowboys do.

Follow closely by #2 which is of course is the simple fact that they are football's most successful franchise since thier 1960 inception.

There's a fair amount of them in the Richmond area. When we used to go to the bar to watch games, there was a big annoying group of them.

I was just in NY the last 2 days, and yesterday I had my Romo jersey on all day. I had a significant amount of commentary on my choice attire and warnings about how we would be sad after this Sunday, and a few video board jibes, too.

I spent a lot of time looking like this --> and saying "We'll see about that on Sunday, won't we?"
