On the bright side, we played a very good Falcons team without, let's see, Dez, Romo, Hardy, Gregory, Mincey, Ro and a less-than-healthy Witten, and we almost beat them.
Are most of us missing this in our mourning over a loss? We have four blue-chipper players who were absent this game and another who was hobbled, and we almost blew out the Falcons - who will likely win their division.
While I wanted to win, I'm not in the least bit discouraged.
We're going to get Hardy and Ro back. Mark my words. This defense is going to get IMMENSELY better when those two come back. And you add Gregory to the mix?
I would hate for some of you to end it all and miss what's coming. :)

I tried to save Staubacher, but he already jumped.

We never almost blew out the Falcons. Their biggest deficit was 14 points. The way our d was playing, they could have been down 28 and still would have come back to win.

When you consider that it was a "Blood Full Moon" combined with a total lunar eclipse and a Cowboys loss, you knew the crazies are going to come out in hoards. They didn't disappoint.

Although I think those players will make us more competetive; ....as long as Romo is out, I think we will be lucky to Win any games.... And he is out for quite some time; The Saints and Bucs are all of sudden tough games and questionable whether we pull out a W.

I know, I know, any given sunday , we will bounce back, the NFL is all about parity. Long season....etc etc...

But guys; It doesnt look good at all. Who is putting money on the Cowboys(without any help) to win? Pats? Seahawks? Carolina? Philly, NY? You putting money on the Cowboys to win those games?

yeah, we might pull out a few....maybe even 3. maybe..... but not much more then that;

Unless Cassell lights it up a little....

Honestly, my focus now is one game at a time. But, really, I'm more interested in making the playoffs. I have not been as optimistic about previous Cowboys teams because I felt they were "soft."
But I honestly believe if this teams makes the playoffs, they will make some noise.
I think the team is built for the long haul. I think the offensive line will gel, and the defense will get even stronger. I like the acquisition of CMike, and I believe he'll be starting by the middle of the season. And I think we'll be back to last season's form down the stretch but with more talent on defense.

Of course, all this is predicated on not having any more injuries and getting those now injured back on the field and them staying healthy.

Until then, we'll do enough on offense to get by and our defense will be x10 better when Hardy, Randy and Ro return. I feel THAT confident in the ability of those three.

I don't feel in the least bit panicky.

Who expected us to win comfortably yesterday? Not me.
Who expected Weeden to throw one pick and us to have 28 points? Not me.
Perception is everything.

I agree. Weeden made 1 real bonehead throw. It hacked me off then I wanted to see how he would respond to that poor decision he made and in the 2 min offense he helped march the team down field and got a TD. Players vet and rookies alike will make mistakes how a player responds to a mistake in my view is key and Brandon shook if off and did his job.
2nd half Alt did change up yet the Cowboys continued to ask Weeden to go to the shorter throws that is on them not Weeden. Had they opened it up and he failed then fine that would be on Weeden but Cowboys did not. Even Stephen Jones is saying this same thing.

I was ecstatic with the O in the beginning. Very, very disappointed in the D. Suppose to be the strength of our team. And just think....some people said Hitchens makes Ro expendable. Yeah right.

the saints will be a desperate team at home on sunday night so we are staring down the barrel of defeat if we don't play well and the whole team steps up.

That's all good if this O line gets their act together. I can't believe how they are getting manhandled at different points of the game.
