To get to the playoffs, you usually need 10 wins. 75% in your games at home. 50% in games on the road - that's the most common formula. Starting 2-0 on the road is very important.

Any win is great, but we have looked unprepared in all of the games played. If it wasn't for a few bone headed mistakes by the Rams today - bad snap that led to a field goal, bogus roughing the passer, dropped TD pass in the end zone, running the ball on 4th and 6 inches instead of QB sneaking, etc, - the team could be 1-2. There is nothing that really impresses me about this team.

You're not impressed that they came back from a 21 point deficit? I mean who cares how they did it, as long as it got done. Good teams will overcome mistakes, I'm not saying the Cowboys are a good team, but they don't quit and if nothing else that impresses me.

Well its true. The only reason this pig of a team has won both road games is the level of competition. This was an ugly crapfest between two teams that are bad even by the watered down NFL standards.

So are you going on record now and saying the Saints will beat us down next week?

I know it was against the Rams and Titans (not exactly playoff level competition) but its hard to win on the road in the NFL.

I will take 2-1 and enjoy the win...........................next week will get here soon enough.

It's a terrible league. FA and the salary cap have ruined the NFL.

I agree with this. I try to tell people this all the time about the NFL but they just ignore it because of their love for the NFL. Look at the Super Bowl

LOL everytime I see that it looks like Roger Staubach wearing number 9.

Really have to give it up to Linehan, in past seasons JG would of abandoned the run in the first quarter, that didnt happen today and Dallas was able to get back into the game.

Not quitting means you have some semblance of hope, and most people have that.

Let's put it this way: the Cowboys have been more fool's gold than real. They've fought back before and won, but "fighting back" is what the majority of teams do. They don't just lay down. I don't understand why people like to lay their hat on this. Until they start putting together better than four straight 8-8 seasons I don't really understand what can be said that is so "impressive" of them.

I think people hang their hat on that, because we can recall a time when this team just laid down even though they were 'talented'.

This team has nothing on the defense right now, they were down to their third string middle linebacker who is a rookie. Melton went in playing hurt, secondary struggled throughout the day.

On offense Tony threw another interception, Murray again fumbled the ball.

Yet, somehow they came back to win a game on the road. (Yes, I know it was against the 'Rams' and it was against the third string QB, I'll take what I can get.).

'Fools Gold' is only applicable if you think the team was gold in the first place. Gold this team ain't and we knew that from the preseason.

I'm not worried about the season right now, or that New Orleans (whom have just crushed the Cowboys lately) will be here next week.

I'm also impressed that they won a game by overcoming huge mistakes with a defense that is not very good right now.

ª If it weren't for a few boneheaded mistakes, the Cowboys would be 3-0.

ª Leading rusher in the League impresses me. Tyrone Smith and zero sacks in three games against the mighty Quinn impresses me. Fredbeard and the rook at RG impress me. Two road wins against any NFL team impress me. Coming from 21 points down impresses me. Sticking to the fricking game plan impresses me. Oh, and Dan Bailey Impresses me.

Is this a Super Bowl team? Probably not. But I think it's a SB o-line with SB skill players. There's no excusing the handful of stupid throws Romo has insisted on tossing so far, but he's looking better physically and has the ability to be great. He's done it before. The defense? Doesn't look too promising, but if it's just a little bit better than last year the team stands a good chance of doing better than 8-8 and maybe pushing for the playoffs.

Bottom line is, I choose to look at the reality that there's room for improvement in areas that can be fixed instead of moaning about the "boneheaded" stuff that's holding the Cowboys back. To me, life is way too short to be dwelling on the crappy side of a football team when we're all of three games in and the team is 2-1, despite all the screw ups. It's impossible to say where the Cowboys will go from here, but I'm not gonna make myself miserable about it before it happens. As I say, though, that's just me.

Hard to get back to back on the road regardless of the competion. Disturbing how unprepared we looked coming out of the gate today though

"Disturbing"... How do you mean?

"Having trouble with your droid"?

"Trouble..... no.... No trouble..... Why"?

Given the fact last home game had as many 9er fans as Cowboy fans and would expect to see large Saints crowd this weekend, Cowboys maybe better off on the road. Seem to have more vocal crowd on the road.

That's great that all of these things impress you, and that's fine. Impressive is a heavy word for me. What Seattle did to Denver in the SB is impressive to me. A team winning back to back Super Bowls is impressive to me. Impressiveness is something that is predicated on consistency.

Now, are there positive signs in the right direction? Sure, but there have been many of those in the past before as well. I try to be a little even keel about things due to past history and my personality, which tends to be a perfectionist one. The latter has its negatives, and naturally inclines me to be more pessimistic.

Yep. Everybody has a different perspective, and I can only offer mine. It doesn't take a SB victory to get my attention. I absolutely refuse to base tomorrow's happiness on yesterday's heartbreak.
