After about a year away, Im finally getting back in exercise. My body feels like its on fire right now lol. Kind miss the feeling.

Im cutting right now and down to about 1,600 calories a day with an hour and a halfish workout. Cardio, circuit weights, cardio most days. Im going upper body one day with weights and lower the next with the day in between just cardio.

I found a meal shake, Vega One. This with my vitipak has been heaven sent for me. 20 grams of protein and most essential nutrients in a 180 calorie serving. One of these every 3 hours and im never feeling hungery.

Been back at for a week and dropped 6 pounds. Im upping my calories this week by substituting 2 Vega one shakes with a home fruit and veggie smoothie which would be double the calories of the Vega Ones

Im at Planet Fitness, which Im already not a fan of lol. My old gym closed down. Wasnt as big but it wasnt lacking anything and the people there were the right combination of friendly and didnt bother you. The equipment at Planet Fitness is just a gaggle as far as wear its placed ( expect the free weights and cables) that I incorporated walking around into my workout just to figure out where I had to go next lol. This sucks when you are doing circuit training and going from one machine to the next

Well played OP. I, myself, need to get my butt back into the gym. I lifted, religiously, for 12+ years and was addicted to it if that makes any sense. About a year ago, I lost interest and it was because of something that you mentioned in your post. Early on, I tried the 'workout @ home' thing, bought some really nice equipment and spent 2-hours/night, 5 days a week, working out solo. I enjoyed having everything to myself, listening to my music on my stereo and the very short commute to & from the basement. :p After about a year, I got bored. I got bored with having to psych myself up to go one more rep. So I went on a gym search and found a small/family owned gym about a mile from work. I then convinced my 'fat' buddy to join me at lunch where we worked out for an hour/day doing nothing but super sets. Needless to say, my 'fat' friend turned into a beast. We loved it. If there was one other person working out at the same time as us, it was considered 'packed'. The equipment was the greatest but it didn't need to be. It's was ours for that 1hr/day. 10 years later, I started a new job which is across town from, which is now, my 'former' gym and my 'former' lifting brah. Even though it was going to be a change, I wasn't going to let it stop me. So, I joined the wonderful local Planet Fitness. After 3 weeks of working out there with, what seemed to be, 50% of my cities population, I quit and have yet to pick a weight up since.

What killed me before was the timeing. I work overnights so I used to go right after work. Seemed like a good idea and was able to get a full week of workouts in that way for over a year. Problem is after I while I would get so tired after work I would skip more and more until I stopped going and havent gone for about a year. Afternoons will suit me much better. Its better for recovery too.

Planet Fitness will do while Im in the cardio intensive cutting stage. Around December when I get into legit lifting Im gonna find a better gym, even if I have to pay a little more and drive a little farther. No way Im still gonna be there when New Years Resolution season starts

LOL...amen bro. The New Year's resolution crowds are insane! The only positive thing about them is that they tend to eliminate themselves once February rolls around.

Drink about 4-6 ounces of pickle juice before a workout and you'll feel a lot less burn but still get the good workout.

Be careful you don't get too fit going to Planet Fitness. They'll fire up the Lunk Alarm and kick you out if your fitness intimates the free pizza and donuts crowd.
Or if I drop a free weight on the ground. Or grunt

I workout and do cardio rather than the weight lifting and may had a rotator cuff back three years ago. Ouch! But really I try to burn at least 1000 calories a day. Four to five days a week at the gym. Been working out there since February 23rd 2015! And love it!
