All good stuff. With or without Dez, as we lament about Dunbar being unused, I'd also like to see Escobar being incorporated. they need to "borrow" the shifts and sets that Payton in New Orleans and N.Eng. used to single up the supersized TE in big mismatches. Escobars size alone makes him a outside target ala Gronc down the side line that will if nothing else free up inside patterns. Escobar has to earn Romo's trust to be in the right place--right time.

Aslong as Witten is on the team no TE will get anything other than minimal looks. Good and bad with this because Witten is one of the greatest to play that spot, but Escobar catches everything thrown at him. He should be on the field more.

Then like Graham, call Pablo a Wr to get Romo over the self induced limitation..........its almost a shortcoming of Romo/Garrett to limit the possibilities of the Offense. Shifting Escobar wide will take a Safety out of the box, giving the same effect as a double on Dez that so many claim makes Dez worth "17 million".....

I have a feeling the Dez and the Cowboys are closer to a deal than is being let on.
No way either side is sitting on their butts waiting for the other side to give in and increase or decrease their stand.

Last year Escobar's primary competition for playing time was Cole Beasley. They are normally not on the field at the same time. If they didn't love Beasley's ability as the 3rd WR, then they likely would have used a lot more packages with Escobar as the 2nd TE in those passing situations. Instead Beasley was on the field in those situations and Hanna was often in on run downs because he is the blocking TE.

Escobar had 1 terrific game but they still didn't increase his snaps. When the offense is loaded with talent some talented players will be underutilized. It's a good problem to have.

I'm so pumped about this season.
Really a ton to look forward to and be positive about.

As for RBs; I've notbeenterrible worry much about this.
But that is a huge stretch to say the only two backs in the entire draft that could upgrade us were Gurley and Gordon. Then again, I guess nobody knows for sure and, as always, time will tell one way or other.

Wont argue there.....I'm just seeing such a dependency on Dez drawing a double with his exteme athletism to get a safety further from the box--to help run game..........We could create the same with a extreme size mismatch like Gronc and Graham do.........or both.......

Part of it is Escobar's fault...he doesn't have the trust of Romo---still running patterns too deep, or like last year wrong place causing INT's. Same problem Dez still had in year 3---lack of precision routes. It what Romo loves about Bease and now Dez after year 4. TWill just starting to understand it now also

Im going to start off with the biggest topic and thats Dez. Like everybody else i wish he was signed but he isnt and like Stephen said its probably too late to get one done. For all you trying to wreck your brains on why he isnt signed, Stephen told everybody why in a interview before the draft. Dallas doesnt want to get in a situation like AZ and HOU had with Fitz and Johnson. Basically they dont want to be paying Dez alot of guaranteed money 4 yrs down the road. Love what Dez brings to the table, but the longer this goes on the less i care if he gets signed long term or is franchised again and let walk in 2017. He brings a dynamic that few teams have, but i think they could get by with a lesser type that can run all the routes. Dallas wouldnt have the big play type of offense IMO, but this OL makes everything a little bit easier.

The RB situation, Im sure the team will lose some of the physical running we all got to see from Murray last yr, but with the holes this OL gives i think with more shifty backs we are going to see bigger runs. Randle and McFadden and straight out fly to the opening. We saw a glimpse of that with Randle last yr. Alot of people are questioning this team not selecting a RB in RD3. Nobody that they couldve gotten after Gordon or Gurley are better then what the team has now.

Cant believe the amount of depth this OL has. Seems like the team is set for the next decade. Getting Collins was amazing, and Green will be ok next yr, They dont even need him this yr. Tyron, Free, Collins, and Weems will be just fine. Green can rehab and spend the yr getting his strength up.

Dallas is absolutely loaded at DE. Once Hardys situation is settled wow. I think he will be suspended 2 games because his case falls under the old rules, not the post Rice rules. Gregory seems to be getting better but his weight is a scary thing in the NFL. That needs to get up. Lawrence coming in at 260 caught me off guard. But i like it alot. He needs to improve his run defense tho. Improve his ability to get off blocks. Fight his hands rather then allowing the tackle to get on him. I think Ben Gardner is going to suprise alot of people at DE. The strong side, and i think he will be in the rotation.

Its amazing to see Sean Lee going full speed the only way he knows how to play without a knee brace or even a sleeve. That shows the dedication he has in getting back. I think Dallas will play it cautious with him during the offseason but i think thats more to do with him not ever taking it below 100mph. The guy gives everything all the time.

This yr i think Dallas will open up its offense and go for more quick strikes because they feel comfortable with their defense. So do i. Last yr they had to ground and pound because the defense was the weakness. This yr i think we are going to see quick hits in the running game, and the passing game. TW has improved alot. Im excited to see what this team does to improve from last yrs record. Enjoy this team, and let the organization do their jobs. Happy fathers day to all the dads.

Point by point...

1. Will Romo be around in two years> That is the question when discussing Dez' contract. It was rhetorical because no one knows. And while teams do win it all without a Dez type player, if the answer to the Romo question is no, then this team will need a premium play-maker. Building a team means you have a force on offense. Normally its the QB, surrounded by top of the mark skill players. The silliness that its all about the cap is as not thought out as it is going all in with serious holes in your team. We've seen one way. Now we may be seeing the other.

2. Could have gotten, DMC and McShoplift, This is the same theory applied in one. We'll see how this all works out. But the question is - late in the game, ball on the two and you need a TD. Can this RBBC get that two yards?

3. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Lee. This defense needs an inspirational leader.

4. If Dallas goes back to the Tony Romo show - by design or being forced to do so because defenses stop the run - then this team is taking a step back. That will stir up the locals here by saying it. Yet balance is what made it work in 2014. The offensive line is good, but with every winning wrinkle, defenses come up with the answer eventually. Force Romo to carry too much of the load, and he will try to do too much and this board will be arguing a game losing [pick late in the season.

The footprint for winning by this team was seen in 2014. Brighter minds decided to run off their running game and piss off their star receiver.

Well, that is one way to do it.

Think, with the high percentage of go routes run by both Dez Bryant and Williams, that Kevin Escobar starts entering the picture more with his high percentage of go routes run as well?

Dallas showed last yr, no matter what teams do this OL as a whole is just better. Teams tried loading the box they just ate it up. They tried blitzing and it worked twice, but in rematches against wash and philly the OL tore them apart. This OL is the answer, not Dez or the running game. The OL is whats going to take them places.
