Bad intentions for Cowboys run defense

This is the first time linebacker Keith Brooking has experienced the Cowboys-Giants rivalry.

He's catching on quickly.

"We've got to go in with a mentality that we're not going to allow them run the ball on us, period,'' Brooking said. "No matter what happens, no matter what we call, no matter what they run, it's on us to be where we're suppose to be.

"And when we get there, get there with bad intentions.''

Clog the middle and force Jacobs outside..it's really that simple..he gets twinkle toes when he has to bounce outside. Not sure why alot of teams dont do this..

because alot of teams don't have an Albert Haynesworth in the middle to clog anything with....

"Get there w/bad intentions" should become the D's slogan all year.

They better not sell out against the run simply because of what happened last Sunday. If they do, Eli will pick them apart.

Prepare for the Giants, not the Buccaneers, this Sunday.

What most people fail to understand is that the Giants are actually a perimeter running team and not the pound you in the middle type that people perceive.

They zone block and the runners are usually trying to get to the outisde, while getting the Dline moving laterally, and making a cut back inside if they see a hole open up.

talk is cheap

Someone like Brooking really ought to get some skins on the wall before he starts shooting off his mouth.

A balanced D should be able to do both, stop the run and rush the passer, especially a Wade D. The only reason Dallas had to become one dimensional (sell out to stop the run) against Tampa was b/c of poor preparation AND poor execution.

Cowboys have no excuses to come out unprepared against the Giants, they know them all to well.

I'd much rather stop the run attack (which led the league last year) and take my chances with Eli. I don't really know if Eli is the Drew Brees type if you know what I mean.

Jacobs isn't the battering ram a lot of people think he is. He's more 'finesse' than is realized. He'll try to juke and run away from you before he tries to run over you.

Unless you believe Wade's version of the story, which I'm not so sure about, but it's certainly just as plausible (or more so) than poor preparation.

I thought Brookings played pretty good last week. Better than James actually. He wasn’t “shooting off his mouth” either. Watch his interview to get some perspective.

I'm mocking another poster to saying 'talk is cheap' about anything a 5 time probowler has to say. I thought he played well last week, too, and think he's a major upgrade for us at ILB.
