Unless you believe Wade's version of the story, which I'm not so sure about, but it's certainly just as plausible (or more so) than poor preparation.

I agree. I think Wade was protecting his players, again. It looked like piss poor execution from where I was sitting.

They better not sell out against the run simply because of what happened last Sunday. If they do, Eli will pick them apart.

Prepare for the Giants, not the Buccaneers, this Sunday.

By throwing to whom? Steve Smith and Mario Manningham? Kevin Boss? I would trust any of our DBs on any of those receivers in single coverage, no problem.

The Giants ran the ball 31 times last week while averaging only 3.3 yards per carry. They don't trust their own passing game, it seems to me. I'm not as excited about our passing D as some, but enough that I'm willing to commit extra resources to stop the run.

I'm mocking another poster to saying 'talk is cheap' about anything a 5 time probowler has to say. I thought he played well last week, too, and think he's a major upgrade for us at ILB.

Glad I read deeper into thread. I feel this guy brings a lot to this defense including leadership when chips are down. Last week he got in the rest of defenses face.

Exactly. Let Hixon and Manningham beat us. Put 8 in the box and don't allow Jacobs to bully the defense around.

Clog the middle and force Jacobs outside..it's really that simple..he gets twinkle toes when he has to bounce outside. Not sure why alot of teams dont do this..

It's not all about having some fat guy like Haynesworth to clog the middle either - just get in there and make it disruptive...don't let him just run through the hole, make him jump or step over bodies, force offensive linemen into the gaps, and yes, make Jacobs go outside.

And hit him below the waist. He whines when people tackle him low :D

No where did I say you have to have Haynesworth. Your the 2nd poster to assume that. It can be done with Rat/Spears and Olshansky. Those guys hold blockers real well and hopefully that translates to Brooking and Bradie blowing plays up. have Sensa or Hamlin be up in the box as well blitzing.

I thought Brookings played pretty good last week. Better than James actually. He wasn’t “shooting off his mouth” either. Watch his interview to get some perspective.

You actually saw what is supposed to happen in a Phillips 3-4. Brooking is the weak ILB, which traditionally racks up tackles in his defense. If things go right with the scheme, he will end up with more tackles than Bradie.

We just haven't had a WILB in this scheme yet that actually took advantage of the position's freedoms and made the most of it. Brooking seems to be doing that.

Brooking isn't the entire defense genius
