Bad news for Free
Rookie LT Doug Free, who did a nice job of protecting Tony Romo, has a sprained right knee. He won't be back tonight and we'll find out more after the game.

At least Free will have something in common with Flozell Adams and Marc Colombo now.

Let's hope this isn't one of those minor "sprains" that gets worse after the game.

There was one play that looked like a classic "Packer Sweep" tothe left and Free looked great blocking out in space.

Hope all is well with free. We were fortunate otherwise with injuries.

I think that's the play he sprained his knee. As Free was getting out of the picture frame, some Colts play rolled up on him.

parcells would be ripping on Free right now for getting a sprain.

And make him play the rest of the game to make sure he didn't get cut.

Tape Offers Reason for Optimism on Free Knee Injury
By Rafael Vela

I’m not a doctor and don’t pretend to be. I just watched some tape of Matt Moore’s 3rd quarter TD drive and saw some reason to be optimistic that rookie LT Doug Free’s injury won’t keep him out very long.

Halfway through the drive Dallas ran a toss left with Tyson Thompson. Free pulled wide and threw a solid seal block on a Colts LB. RT James Marten, running with his man from the opposite side of the field, rolled into Free’s right leg as he tried to finish off a block. Free jumped and seemed to tweak the knee, but did not leave the field.

He remained at LT for the last five plays of Dallas’ drive. He looked to be in some pain, but did not show a limp. He left the field without any assistance and did not return to the game. Free was able to run in space and either has an incredible threshold for pain and wanted to make a strong first impression, or simply suffered a minor injury.

The tape suggests the last option and we all hope for the last option, but you never know with knees.

Knee injuries are freak things sometimes.

I remember seeing Flo's injury in 05. That didn't look serious, he walked off the field, and even came back in the game for a bit. Well, he had a very serious knee injury.

I've also seen guys that have nasty looking knee injuries that have no problems coming back.

Phillips not sure about Free's knee

Wade Phillips said he didn't know the severity of Doug Free's right knee injury. Free was standing on the sideline at the end of the game and walked to the locker room with no noticeable limp. He had an ice pack on the knee.

Free, a fourth-round pick, did a solid job in place of starting LT Flozell Adams. Pat McQuistan, Marc Colombo's replacement was also solid.

"They did a lot better than most people thought," Bigg Davis said. "They worked their butts off, so hats off to them."

doesnt sound serious and I must admit that it is pretty cool to have TWO rookies and a second year player all playing well on the offensive line and none of them are starters.

High five Jeff Ireland! High five!
