Bad punt coverage, so kick ball out of bounds

If the Cowboys can't get the punt coverage corrected, why not just kick the ball out of bounds on the punts? Might be better in the long run. Maybe the net average will be better.

Because you end up with the punter shanking the ball more times than not. Seem the more a punter trys to avoid punting the ball away from a returner the better field position the other team gets. I do agree this is an area that Dallas needs to continue working on at least in my eyes I did see a much better showing by the kickoff unit.

The good ole coffin corner punt. You just don't see that much these days.... Our kick return coverage seems to be improving, but our punt coverage teams seem lost.

He's actually done a few times already. This Punter is not that bad. He boomed a few yesterday, and when he punts from around the 50, he aims for the sidelines.

Add to that the fact that he might be the one responsible for waking this team up on his grueling hit Sunday....

Exactly... Last week he did a couple of coffin corner attempts, and I thought wow, no one even tries that anymore (except Jeff Feagles, who remembers when dirt was invented). Pretty cool.
