Times and size aside (Really not that great anyway) he is a questionable player all around. Doesn't work hard, very inconstistent and doesn't really get much of a rush. Heck, he was benched in the beginning of 2006. A 4th might be pushing it.

While I can somewhat agree with you that game speed is more important. What you seem to miss is if you can run a 4.4 40 in shorts, it generally means you will run a faster 40 than someone who runs it in 4.59. Pads or shorts.

Yeah, expecially when comparing guys of the same size and they are less than a 10th of a second difference. You got to admit though. When you see 4.3 times and less. It is a bit awe inspiring.

all I am saying is that Size and Speed at the DE is what we need. He is only .4 slower than Gains Adams at the combine..not bad if you can get him in the 3rd or 4th.

he's another jerome mcdougle. I saw every miami game this year. Atkins was invisible. Calais campbell was the best defensive lineman on the canes.

people only focus on it because it is simple. scouts look at all the measurables to get a more complete picture.

the numbers from the linebackers today were insane.

those are only numbers though. Its hard to look at the group of linebackers and ends and think that there are not going to be players available in the third down.

I think this draft is about offense, but I always think good teams take the best available player.

Poszulzny and robinson looked great doing this stuff today.

There are only TWO positions on a team where 40 times really matter: CB and WR. Most of all for a CB. There are only two positions where the player might be running 40 yds on any play.
