I'm really starting to think if we go Cooper or Warmack in the 1st Round I honestly wouldn't mind filling our Center spot for years to come sith Barrett Jones in the 2nd Round.

Bryan Broaddus Update @ Alabama Pro Day

What They Said: In talking with the Alabama coaches, they couldn’t say enough outstanding things about Barrett Jones and what he could bring to an NFL team. The coach I was speaking with was a long time NFL guy and he said in all his years of coaching he had never been with a player that was as smart as Jones, and that includes some quarterbacks he was with. He said that Jones would come in and learn all the offensive positions and wherever you played him he would excel. Jones did do the same amount of reps at 225 as Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher and Lane Johnson. Jones still will not be able to work out for scouts because of the Lisfranc injury, which is still a concern.

They had some glowing reviews for Jones.
Almost makes me want to go back at look at some his games more closely.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet it all against the fact that we go G, C in the first two rounds.

Pretty sure we could grab Barrett Jones in the 3rd round. Guy has serious durability issues.

Barrett Jones in the third round is a steal, and one that Dallas, IMO, should be very interested in.

Really? He started 25 games his first two years, then 11 and then 13 his senior year. Doesn't really sound like serious durability issues to me.

....granted, he just had Lisfranc surgery on his foot and can't run but overall he's been VERY durable...concern is how that injury will heal going forward. I think there is close to NO chance we draft any decent olinemen in first 2 rounds...JJ wasn't "blowing smoke"....he truly has no clue

I have been intrigued by Barrett Jones and the prospect of him becoming a Cowboy since the start of last season. I love the toughness the guy plays with. Watching him at Bama I was impressed

Works for me. Let's also find a way to draft Warmack and Fluker.

I think OL in the 1st could happen but I also think DT and or safety is possiable depending on how the draft falls.

Unlike some I don't set my eyes on 1 or 2 options I see areas that need to be addressed (OL included) and I hope to get the best talent on the board to help fill these needs. If that is a DT great we need it if that is safety great we need it and of course OL. But to me this draft is not about 1 position

I was joking, though I will say I'm a big fan of each Bama OLine prospect.

when you have high rated players at a position of great need it is dumb to pass on them.

If we could get Warmack and Jones we would have two positions on the O line set for years to come. Which would make the line much better and the team better as well.

Some people think value is important. Finding guys that will play well is what is REALLY important. So what if you pick a guy that is in the lower half of the round in ratings and you are grabbing him in the middle. SO WHAT if you have done your homework right you get a PLAYER.

He certainly fits the mold of a Garrett player, plus he is similar to Sean Lee and Carter in that he might have had late first round grades if not for his injuries.

Barrett Jones will not make it out of the first round. If by any chance he does, he will be the selected inthe first 5 picks of the second round tops.

The kid has played every position onthe offensive line since he's been at Alabama and has played it well. The kid does whatever it takes to help his team get better and doesn't have the "me" attitude that comes with elite players.

Would love to get Barrett but its wishful thinking being a Cowboys fan.

Where did I say I was opposed to that. If you read I have no problems using a 1st rd pick on OL I also do not have an issue using it for DT or for safety. I want the best talent to fill those needs if that is OL great but my main concern is getting top talent not taking guys because they have a G or T as their position.

Draft for position and you end up wishing you did not do that . You draft talent plan and simple.

You get so caught up with your agenda where you make comments that our entire draft should be OL, that is foolish and not going to happen. Hell we could do that and I'm sure all the complaints will be how stupid Jones was for not addressing defense.

A defense that was poor last season and has already lost our starting safety and a starting DL player while now being in a 4-3 where we will need help up front.

I'm all for beefing up the OL I'm not for wasting an entire draft just to say look we got an OL players. Few teams regret drafting the best talent

With his injury? I'd be he slides to the third, and I'd prefer we pass on him and go with Schwenke (everyone wants a Schwenke) if they're both there then.

I have a feeling you will be right on this prediction.

I'd definitely go DL over OG in the first. If one of the OTs happens to fall, I think that makes even more sense since there's a decent drop off in OT talent after the first round.

I wouldn't look at S, personally, until at least the third. But we definitely need to add one in the 3rd or 4th.

It'd be nice to get/stay ahead of the game on the DL, for once. And we need to add two OLs in a combination of FA and the first two rounds of the draft, somehow if we can.

I'm sure teams will look at any and all medical concerns. If they feel it will be an issue your right he will slide, however if the reports they get is a full recovery then I think he could go late 1st rd to early 2nd.
