Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings quarterback Quincy Carter has been suspended for at least one game for missing team meetings.

The suspension will begin with Friday's home game against Manchester, a team spokesman said. The Battle Wings said Carter missed more than one meeting but they were not more specific.

Carter was informed of the suspension during Wednesday's Battle Wings practice at Independence Stadium. A witness who spoke on condition of anonymity because of his relationship with the team said Carter was visibly upset about the decision.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has led the Battle Wings to a 5-1 record so far, the best start in franchise history.

Gary Cooper, a Booker T. Washington High School and Grambling State University alumnus, will quarterback the team during Carter's suspension.​

Sad. Quincy is in a destructive path that includes admitted drug use, non-commitment to his responsibilities, blaming others for his wrongs and a perceived smug attitude.

QC is in a sorry place right now. For his actions, he has received chasetisement and ridicule. However, now more than ever the man needs heavenly intervention. I hope those who do will consider praying for him.
