Why would people be annoyed by a team that continually picks TEs in the draft while having no idea how to use them?

Good thing we got Swaim last year or we'd be struggling. All set now

Because they don't understand their importance, I would guess. It's hard to say why. People look for all sorts of things to be annoyed by.

Swaim's fine for what he is, but we're going to be down two TEs. We're going to add another one someplace.

Yes, because while we have 4 TEs only 1 actually knows how to play

How would you feel about taking Hunter Henry in the second? (If he's there, that is)

It's Wit, Swaim, and another pick somewhere along the line. People are going to be annoyed by that.
If there is one position we draft that is guaranteed to generate the most negative reaction, it's TE.

It just seemed to me every time they tried to get him involved in the passing game he would drop balls. I think he is a classic underacheiver.

Trade him to Venus. His brother can join him there, too.

It's going to be interesting to see what we do at TE this year. Hanna's going to want to test the market. Escobar had the nasty injury late. It's Wit, Swaim, and another pick somewhere along the line. People are going to be annoyed by that.

Man, Hana is one guy I thought/hoped would blow up in the receiving game. The size and speed are there, sad he never really stepped it up or, perhaps, he didn't have the opportunity.

I thought he might, too. Instead, he went the other direction and became a pretty good blocking TE. But I'm afraid he's gone. The Swaim pick obviously was to get a guy in the system for a year to have him ready for Hana to go. It's a thin draft year for TEs. He's going to get a deal we won't want to match.

Has he truely learned how to block? If not, there's no place for him in Dallas. There are enough receiver types on the roster, unless one is looking for a true #2 wide receiver.

when he was with us, he was our best blocking TE.

Never was better than Jason Witten, even in a stretch...

when it came to blocking yes he was!

http://www.nbcdfw.com/blogs/blue-star/Martellus-Bennett-Could-Be-Missed-in-2012-165720026.html

"Bennett was good in pass protection, but he was sensational as a run blocker. Over the past three seasons, the Cowboys averaged 5.6 yards-per-carry when running behind Bennett—compared to 4.9 yards-per-carry behind Witten. It’s never popular when I say this, but Bennett is a better blocker than Witten (who is a great blocker in his own right)."

Now I am not knocking Witten at all.

Can't agree from the start...back then, he was still trying to match blocking in the wide receiver group. He'll never be up to standards for Jason Witten, A COMPLETE TIGHT END, sorry, you don't reach standard at all, here.

That means he is a classic Dallas 2nd round TE pick.

WPB, think the Cowboys could sign Martellus Bennett and then fans ask him to take a dive off the Grand Hyatt to see if he can hit the River in San Antonio?

Fans could go internet atop the Space Needle...

Prefer to keep his sorry rear out of TX all together.
