He may not be exciting but he is more reliable than Whitehead. We can't afford muffed punts and turnovers with our offense in shambles.

Agree but with that said we need to make plays now and Whitehead making big plays could be huge for us.

It was more about not screwing it up when we had Romo.

Now we need to make plays from anywhere and everywhere.

If th choice were mine, I'd release Whitehead immediately and put him on the practice squad until he learns how to be a pro. And then I'd sign a capable WR/KR to fill that spot.

What does that mean?

I assume the coaches see something in him worth keeping him on the 53 even though he isn't a returner for us, and has lined up at WR yesterday.

Guess the staff didn't feel too high on Jenkins, trading for Butler and continuing to keep Whitehead as a receiver.

What does that mean?

Meaning knowing his playbook, what he's supposed to do, and not mishandling or fumbling the ball. All things that he has not done to this point.

And neither guy contributed anything or looked like they knew what they were doing. It's tough enough when you're down your top receiver and top running back from a year ago, and now your franchise QB is out for some time. The last thing this team needs is to have guys out there who don't know what they're doing. That makes things worse, not better.

Austin Pettis has done it for the Rams and they worked him out last week. When they did, I thought we might see Lucky cut and Pettis signed as part of a two-fer at the position.

Broaddus claimed that Toon & Gates were the more impressive WRs out of those four they looked at. And that they thought Butler was more of an nfl quality player than them.

I think he actually may have saved us in both games. The blocking crew seems to be doing everything they can to make the returner muff the ball. If that was Whitehead or someone else not sure if those wouldn't be muffs.

Twice yesterday
Eventually lucky will take over but they are doing with him what they did with Harris
Let him get a feel for the game before they put him back there

I love what he brings in the slot, but man, talk about an absolute zero threat as a returner. I shouldnt happy if he catches it clean and doesnt fumble on his 4 yard return.

He.s way to hesitant and dances around too much. Can TWill return? I know he.s the number 1 now, but still

obviously he is not a punt returner. like you said he dances too much. a returner, pick sa lane and hits it. dancing around and hesitation only allows their special team to catch up with him.

Reasons to immediately stop the Beasley as returner experiment and never look back:

1. With Dez out, Cole's importance is virtually as a starting receiver. Teams generally do not risk their starting receiver as return man

2. As was evidenced with Tony on Sunday...smaller guys can have major injury merely by getting rolled up on/over. In the middle of the field he is subject to getting rolled up, piled up on.

3. He is ultra quick, but he he isn't fast. You want speed in the return game

4. He isn't big enough/strong enough to protect the ball in a crowd

5. We now have a body of evidence: it doesn't work. He's not a natural at it.

He catches the ball. That's the most important aspect. I dint care if Beasley averages 6 yards per return versus someone who may get 12 and cough it up on occasion.

I wouldn't trust Lucky on the road in a hostile environment. I'd give him a chance this week at home.
