With Adrian Wilson's new deal having increased his cap figure, beat reporter Kent Somers doesn't expect the Cardinals to extend Anquan Boldin if they can't lower Karlos Dansby's cap number via new contract.

The Wilson deal showed that Arizona doesn't feel urgency to appease Boldin. The Cards are currently just $1.5M under the salary cap and must decrease Dansby's number just to sign rookies. It appears Boldin will have to wait.

As good as Boldin is, I can understand Arizona's position. It's hard to carry--and pay for --two #1 WRs. There are really no teams out there paying two WRs at a maximum level. I haven't checked NE, so maybe they are....but that would be it.
Plus, the Cards have some great young talent behind Boldin. So Boldin may be good enough for top dollar, but there a real chance he won't get it in AZ.
