Before quick answers really think about this regarding Randy Gregory

I am probably in the minority here, but I would never give up on my kids. I know it's popular to just write him off because you are disappointed so far because you expected so much, but would you do that if it was your son? I just don't understand why it makes people feel better to just write him off as if he never existed.

This thing about not being in football shape is really overblown. Certainly he won't be as good as he could have been, but there is no reason he can't come in week 15 and provide some help.

there is no reason to cut him if thats what you mean......he is under contract for 2-3 years for cheap......if he can bounce back great....... but we just can't count on him for anything
Exactly
At this point it's very cheap to see if he can turn it around but you can't count on it
I keep him and go into the next off season seeing DE as a huge need. If he turns it around it's just gravey

I think there's a better chance of Randy playing because the NFL decides to remove marijuana from the banned list than because Randy stays clean.

There is no reason for him to play this year. If he is ready next summer let him go theough camp. He can still be useful during his rookie contract so there is no reason to bail on him, but there is no reason for him to play at all this year.

Dude loves weed, doesn't give a rip about football.

And he's our best pass rusher? Lol, based on what?

Based on my eyes and what i see his injury last year set him back don't act like that he wasn't doing his thang in camp in preseason in practice against Tyron Smith last season

Don't act like Randy Gregory wasn't one of the talks of camp last year in Dallas ... don't get forgetful jumping off the bandwagon

he got hurt 1st game of the season in 2015 along with Dez btw and even before the season started he was giving our oline the business and hose sacks ( thats with an s) as well with what little he played....

Whaaaaat!! and you laughing at he's not our top 2 best pass rusher looking at this DLine? what we are trotting out every week?don't get me started!!!

So who's a better natural pass rusher on the Dallas Cowboys? please id like to know? THIS SHLDNT TAKE LONG TO THINK ABOUT?

he was one of THE talks of camp last season in Dallas and on this forum ...he came back from that high ankle sprain, now he wasn't getting sacks or didn't get sacks but oh he was getting closer i seen holds as well that wasn't called along the way l

Go back to lat summer, Gregory was looking really good as in in traits and skills our best pass rusher and the only reason we won't say he's is the best pass rusher is because Demarcus got 9 sacks last year ... so based of stats Demarcus is our Best pass rusher but as far as natural skill its Gregory in my opinion

Gregory is our Best pass rusher i know most want to see it 1st I'm not necessarily that person like with Dak o saw what i needed to see against Seattle in preseason to know we good i didn't have to wait until new york or like some still waiting... ( matter of fact y'all Dak hold users lets wait and see don't worry about it we good Dak gone be good..... See the way our Oline is set up and dez out there and Zeke back there Dak gone b ight!

now back to Randy y'all waiting on stats i saw all i needed to see last year before he got hurt now he dealing with an issue thats not permitted by the NFL and I didn't and Im not gonna Stutter...

Because i believe Randy would be playing right now even with his alleged mental issue he's dealing with ( because i don't know i haven't heard that from Randy or his reps) its the suspension thats the issue... if it wasn't for that suspension i believe he would be playing right now keeping it a buck wit cha!

just ask Hall of Famer DE Haley isn't he dealing with bipolar issue? i don't remember him missing many games but he got to the qb quite frequently ijs

Wrong on every point.

Gregory gets steamrolled in the run game and stonewalled in his pass rush. He lacks pass rush moves, strength, and leverage.

He needed a couple years in the weight room to gain weight. He's basically looks like a tall free safety.

Lawrence is Dallas' best pass rusher for sure currently but I'm not giving up on Randy Gregory either, and I seriously doubt he "doesn't give a rip about football". I just wish the NFL would remove marijuana from the banned substance list as it's clearly not a performance enhancing drug and is truly a miracle drug for a lot of people - obviously Gregory needs it. Simply, it's ludicrous that teams still hand out painkillers like candy but a dude can't smoke weed because he's in the NFL. I have to admit that if I was staring at millions of dollars in pay, I'd probably find another drug to use to cope with whatever my issues were, but unfortunately that would most likely be alcohol, which is far worse than marijuana could ever be. My two cents but what do I know...

i said pure pass rusher not a run stopping missile how come i knew somebody old mention his run game abilities we know this lol but i specifically sd pass rusher.. who's better? and bull rushing don't count as being a pure pass rusher in my opinion..... just cause u can bull rush ur way to a sack don't mean you are a pure pass rusher and

of coarse he can use more moves and he will develop more pass rushing moves thats part of developing and we know he has no sacks but remember like i sd....

he got hurt the 1st game high ankle sprain and he his athletic ability is part of reason he can do what he's capable of doing which what these other cats can't don't have and can't teach... so I'm sure it took some time for him to trust is ankle fully... that wasn't the case before the injury tho i was on this forum on dallas website reading calls online papers listening online Gregory names was just as prevalent when talking about individual players his name seas prevalent every day and with how good he look in practice and games just had a set back

so I'm not wrong i take in consideration being a rookie and still learning how to be a pro i consider that he's not a 5 year vet

Want to know others perspective because I see and read forms and articles and chats that since Randy is suspended 14 gmes he can't help this team when he gets back from suspension with 6 games left in the season and he's not injured keep that in mind

Whats the difference between being injured for a long period of time in the season and comeback week 15 play start as opposed to being suspended, not injured and able to workout, stay with the team the whole time but just can't practice...

Even with no career sacks healthy he is our best pure pass rusher period

Im of the belief that since he's not dealing with an injury and once again the issue is just to stop smoking at this point ......

then I'm of the belief that he can at least have a roll as a 3rd down specialist this season... i mean he would be fresh from not playing 15 games and its just of matter of working against Tyron Smith in practice work out the kinks as much as possible and give him a shot cause these dudes who playing every week are not doing any better and been here the whole time lol

i think randy can give you something at least pressure.... but i never understood that logic since I've been hearing a reading it.....cause like i sd in the thread i started about Randy few days ago the doom and gloom they portray over Randy over weed like its life or death i don't agree with now if its a mental thing which i don't know its only been reported that i haven't heard that from Randy or his family myself but what we do know is i order for him to play he just got to stop smoking soo

its i smh when these writers go that route about Randy all sad but thats they way they want to swing it thats cool not gonna influence me and my take on the situation

if you injured u got to heal then work your way back up now Suspension its just a matter of your ability and your desire to be ready when its over imo and too working out kinks getting in football shape....

his ability is not gone he can pretty much build up these weeks and who knows maybe the light will turn on at the right time in the season which is late anyway... ...... he is still with the team thorough the suspension and JG sd he still sees Randy as an option in 2016 so hopefully randy can be ready.....

the doom and gloom when speaking about Randy idk man just bothers me.... still a young dude I'm rooting for him you can't tell me looking at this D line that Randy aint got a good 10-15 pass rushes per game in him until he gets going...he was gonna be the starter until he got suspended
I think the fact he never reported for camp..

never showed any interest in learning the play book or so any mental work..

has queered him with the team.

When you show no interest in the team and don't make any effort..

that's a huge problem.

It's the same with McLain.

I can't imagine his teammates being so forgiving of such behavior.

Huh? I don't want to be the resident RG apologist but what are your referring to with learning the playbook or mental work? It's not that complicated for a DE and I don't remember any such reports about his effort, but I could be wrong. Yeah, he needs to put on weight and learn some counter pass rush moves but he got suspended and sent to rehab, which was undoubtedly required by the Cowboys (for marijuana LOL). I always wonder what they tell someone in rehab for marijuana. You're going to ruin your life if you keep smoking weed, even though millions of people prove this to be false every day. It's more like, your're going to ruin your chances of a second contract in the NFL at 10M+ a year if you keep smoking because the NFL has archaic rules. Probably a more logical approach. Also, I have to assume "queered him with the team" was a typo or auto-correct, at least I hope so.

No..

my post is straight my opinion.

And I use pot for medical reasons..go to Colorado when I need the substance.

My doctors know I do for my conditions..

I'm in Stage 4 kidney failure..have had brain surgery in the last 2years..have 80% blockage in my carotid artery that is non-operable with constant dizzy spells when trying to stand up or walk.

My blood pressure is 175/90 on a daily basis.

I take 12 meds twice a day plus I smoke to take the. Edge off the meds and my conditions.

I am permanently disabled now.

So I'd know about pot use.

I don't believe in the pot laws and as far as Gregory is concerned..

I think he has mental issues which is why he uses..he needs help.

He's getting it it appears..but that's not why I commented..

it was about him not trying..not attending and blowing it off.

You can have your opinion..no problem..but please don't call me out.

Call Gregory out..I'm legal..I have clear reasons for it, I'm under a doctors care and done it the right way.

but Gregory has different issues and is doing very different things.

Take it up with him.
