Combined with the success of the other receivers against the Broncos, especially Williams breakout game. I wonder if the Cowboys are getting more comfortable with other guys taking Austin's roll. His hamstrings make him less and less dependable. Even after babying him through training camp he lasts just three games. One of his best strenghts is playing in the slot, but here comes Beasley.

I really like Austin, but I'm starting to like this Williams kid alot to. ;)

I wouldnt throw austin away just yet. I am not going to base my thoughts on williams on just one play. If that were the case i would have given up on him after the fumble in SD. Lets not annoint him just yet.

It was never expected for Terrance and Miles to compete. Terrance was suppose to compliment both Dez and Miles. That hasn't changed. Miles is a slot receiver who can play outside but he's our slot and Terrance is not effecting that. Now Harris and Beasley are another story.....I still believe a healthy Miles is one of the better receivers in this league and if he can come back this season will make us even MORE explosive.

Let him recover as best he can, and work in Beasley / Harris more. We are fortunate to have the depth at this position.

Makes the days of Crayton as our 3rd down receiver seem long ago

Love miles and hws a great receiver but it doesnt matter. Im tired of paying people to not play. he needs to take a huge pay cut if he wants to stay next year.

He would have to have more than 1,000 yards and probably 10 TDs to justify keeping him around next year without a significant pay cut.

There are a lot of good WRs in college right now who would look good in place of Miles Austin. I'll gladly take LSU WR Jarvis Landry in place of Miles any day.

He'll get to stay because his cap hit isn't worth cutting him.

Miles is in the drivers seat..For miles.... Pun intended.

Miles' future with this team has everything to do with contract and durability. I feel the writing is on the wall for him. Very talented WR, but injury prone.

I'd personally rather use that pick on a offensive linemen, defensive linemen, safety or cornerback......

A player that cannot stay healthy is the equivalent of a running back that cannot hold on to the ball,,, you can't use them.

I like Miles a lot - if since I say him his first year used some NO saints CB his rookie year

but Jerry jumps the gun with extensions because they have a ONE great year ---IE Rat

I just can not justify it no more with the same injury year after year

2014: $5.5 million,
2015: $6.888 million,
2016: $11.38 million,

next year is the year to trade him or cut him

I'm sorry, what exactly was it that Williams did on the big TD that was so special? He had zero separation, didn't out-muscle the defender for the ball. He held out his arms and it landed there like a big loaf of bread -- one of those plays where you have no idea how the defender missed knocking the ball down. And the defender WAS surprised he didn't knock it down, which is why Williams was able to gain separation after the catch and take it to the house.

Uh thanks, but I'm going to need to see a little more than that before I throw Austin in the garbage bin. I hope it's a sign of things to come, but breakout game? Hardly.

Not concerned about the end just the here and now. I look forward to seeing Miles out there helping the team now. What may happen at the end of the season the Cowboys will cross that bridge when the get there.
