Dez has 45 million guaranteed reasons to not need an apology...he got paid (thankfully) so now we should ALL be able to move forward...those people that wanted him traded, wanted him franchised this year and next and then jettisoned, well, that didn't happen...I am glad that they got him signed...I didn't need the stress...I love the guy

Money isn't everything to everybody.

He earned the money AND he deserves an apology just for the sake of being a person. He had his name and reputation dragged thru the mud over nothing.

I can guarantee that if you were basically accused of being a vicious woman beater, it would bother you.

Sure, the new contract would help ease that for you. But, you earned that contract thru your own skills and ability that has nothing to do with being accused of being a woman beater.

Perhaps it's because I come from an Irish family, but if that's me I don't ever forget that stuff and I really would like to see karma come after the the Schefter's and Florio's of the world.

Most ridiculous post ever. Owners and the Commish are vilified constantly by the fans. I've seen Goodell and Jones trashed on this site more than any one player.

Many players are praised as hero's
When players screw up the are blasted in the press which is perfectly normal
The owners who aren't winning are trashed by fans and the media constantly
Goodell is trashed by fans and the media more than anyone
The problem as bell is referring is the media reporting on rumor without confirming the facts
That on the media and that's a big problem that the media itself should address
If you report on a rumor that proves to be wrong then you have an obligation as a human being to admit it was wrong and retract it

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect it thoroughly. Thank you for the insight on where my post ranks in the grand scheme of all posts ever made on this board or others throughout the internet universe.

David Wells was the biggest smearer. His crew was the 'other' present at the WalMart incident. Wells himself revealed and confirmed Dez's rehab as well as giving leak after leak following him taking his business to RocNation.

Wells had a contract with Dez of some sort and wanted to get everything he was due in that contract. At some point he seemed to shut up, which probably means he got some amount of money from somebody.

It seems that there definitely was a "Walmart Incident", but I don't know if a video ever existed.

My guess is that Wells used the reporter (Was it Florio) as a bargaining chip.'

If Wells really did have a contract, then the contract should have been honored by Dez, but apparently it was not honored after Roc entered the picture.

It does seem that the guys that helped Dez with the brand X stuff probably got screwed in this deal by Roc and Dez. Those guys did help him develop the X into a personal brand and some think it might have been their idea in the first place.

Seriously? Have a link to any of these things? Not that I don't believe you, but man my 1st time hearing the rehab and that he was at the Wal-Mart incident.

You have to admit something happened that night involving Dez' girl and his people. There was enough of a incident that someone called the police. Dez' employees and cars were all over the place and he was later personally involved.

It doesn't mean that Dez did anything, but if someone read the police report and was told there was also a video that would be big news. Schefter went to far when he allowed people to think he was confirming the existence of a tape and not just working on the story. Florio is a just a click bait hack.

There should be an apology, but I disagree with the part where the article says the writers should out their sources. That's taking things way, way too far.

Why? There sources have proven to be frauds and liars and she be exposed as such so others don't fall for their trap.

Well to be fair, they are looking at it from a standpoint of cap space.

Still, unless you are willing to get rid of Romo and start over. You sign Dez.

Yea fans were looking at it from a cap perspective but I couldn't sit here and tell Dez to take a pay cut while Tyron, Romo and Sean Lee got theirs. Not when he's the best player on this team.

Sources would cease to work with people if they got outed. Both legit and bs sources. Id be fine with it because i think entertainment media is about as low as buman existence gets, but the reasoning for not doing it is simple.

Strongly disagree. Citing "unnamed sources" simply enables them to fabricate stories and then hide behind their so called sources. Ninety percent of what is written nowadays seems to be hearsay based on these "sources". They have the absolute power to unfairly and drastically alter peoples lives/welfare while lining their own pockets. I put these guys right up there with sleazy used car salesmen in terms of respectability. JMO.
