You have to admit something happened that night involving Dez' girl and his people. There was enough of a incident that someone called the police. Dez' employees and cars were all over the place and he was later personally involved.

It doesn't mean that Dez did anything, but if someone read the police report and was told there was also a video that would be big news. Schefter went to far when he allowed people to think he was confirming the existence of a tape and not just working on the story. Florio is a just a click bait hack.

Walmart has video surveillance of the parking lot, so there was video of whatever happened.
My question would be did anyone get a copy of that video, did walmart mgmt look at the video?
It is possible someone maybe even Walmart employee could have made a copy.
Then why was it never shown ? good or bad it disappeared. Who could make that happen?
I dont think dez himself has ever commented on the incident ? If nothing bad happened then he should have.

so really we dont know and never will know what really happened so best to let it go.

Seriously? Have a link to any of these things? Not that I don't believe you, but man my 1st time hearing the rehab and that he was at the Wal-Mart incident.

The Walmart incident is logic. He had a member of West's team with him when he left the house at all times. There was one other person with him at Walmart. Either he ran off and met someone at Walmart -unlikely- or it was West's team that was with him.

Bryant tells me he’s been contemplating this breakup since last October, when he opted to assert more authority in how his money was being handled and spent. He also strongly disputes the claim, seemingly suggested by Wells to ESPN, that “the move could complicate long-term negotiations between the player and the Cowboys.”

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2015/04/17/dez-says-im-making-the-decisions-now/

As for him confirming his rehab:

According to his adviser, David Wells, the Cowboys are setting up strict guidelines to help Bryant manage and remake his life. They include:

■ No consumption of alcohol

■ No attending strip clubs

■ Attending weekly counseling sessions

■ A full-time security team to take Bryant to and from practice and escort him when he is out after midnight

This is not just about the Cowboys putting restrictions on Bryant. Those closest to him, including West, Wells and his agent, Eugene Parker, agree that the stipulations are necessary.

"We have some things in place and we are still in the process of working out the rest," Wells said. "We are all working together to accomplish some things to help him succeed."

Many players are praised as hero's
When players screw up the are blasted in the press which is perfectly normal
The owners who aren't winning are trashed by fans and the media constantly
Goodell is trashed by fans and the media more than anyone
The problem as bell is referring is the media reporting on rumor without confirming the facts
That on the media and that's a big problem that the media itself should address
If you report on a rumor that proves to be wrong then you have an obligation as a human being to admit it was wrong and retract it

The poster should have directed his disgust towards PFT and its unnamed source. I do not read PFT, so I am not aware of the story. PFT is the National Enquirer of the professional football.

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect it thoroughly. Thank you for the insight on where my post ranks in the grand scheme of all posts ever made on this board or others throughout the internet universe.

You obviously have an agenda, and will try to make any incident fit your agenda. If you believe either the players or owners care about the average fan, you are naive.

Walmart made an official, on the record statement, that they had no video of the incident.

It wasn't the fact that "something" happened, a police report was filed afterall. However, the police report said absolutely nothing and leads much more credence to a situation more entailed to "disturbing the peace".

The fact that it was reported as "WORSE THAN THE RAY RICE VIDEO" was pretty plainly libel in my opinion. The fact that Dez is a 'public figure' probably saved some *****. If you're going to make that statement you better back it up, and not just state "sources" when all evidence points to the contrary.

That was probably the least professional thing I've seen in sports journalism. There are still those who think Dez is a criminal now because of the libelous words of a few "journalists".

Dez certainly handled it better than I would have. Hand me 45$ million guaranteed and Mike Florio would be reporting on youth baseball in Cuba.

Sources would cease to work with people if they got outed. Both legit and bs sources. Id be fine with it because i think entertainment media is about as low as buman existence gets, but the reasoning for not doing it is simple.

If your sources are legit than why would you fear being outed especially if the people being outed are lying?

No agenda at all. Made a statement. That's all. You disagree with the statement which is cool with me. No big deal at all. At least we can agree on being Cowboys fans and liking the board we post on.

I don't want any one that smeared Dez to apologize to him. I want him pissed off and get his revenge on the field of play! I want him to show Blandino the punk that he's over it.

Get some.....!

Really good point. Nailed it.

Money isn't everything to everybody.

He earned the money AND he deserves an apology just for the sake of being a person. He had his name and reputation dragged thru the mud over nothing.

I can guarantee that if you were basically accused of being a vicious woman beater, it would bother you.

Sure, the new contract would help ease that for you. But, you earned that contract thru your own skills and ability that has nothing to do with being accused of being a woman beater.

Perhaps it's because I come from an Irish family, but if that's me I don't ever forget that stuff and I really would like to see karma come after the the Schefter's and Florio's of the world.

I am also Irish and we tend to forgive and forget...those guys are dead to me, but I have moved on

well that is odd walmart had no video at all dont you think? I remember they had video of the woman beating her kid.
So I dont know how long they keep the video, but at one point there should have been video of whatever happened.
It could vary from store to store, but this one is in high dollar area so I would think they would be recording 24/7

also 99% of people have not judged dez on a video that they havent seen.
No one thinks he is a criminal for sure.
most know the media exaggerates things.

A bunch of dudes on here were talking about getting rid of him and "Cutting our ties"before it's too late. Now everyone forgot, and pretending they never wanted him gone, now that he signed.

So they don't need to blame those reports. It actually let those who hid their true feelings, expose it.

Well said....
