Belt proves the Cowboys will be big spenders in free agency this year

I think at 82, having missed the playoffs twice, seeing Philly win back to back NFCE titles, realizing hes got about 2 more years on the dak window, having 2 first round picks and the ability to free up a ton of cap space....that Jerry is going to pull the trigger and go all in for real.

Hes got to know hes near the end and this is likely his last shot without lucking out on another qb in the draft.

Hate my post all you want, but if there was ever a time it is now otherwise he may not live to see a better chance
Good points, but I’m still not convinced.

nah, i am just being pragmatic - at some point he has to hit a tipping point and i think that time is now. Will it happen, who knows and history says probably not, but there are more signs pointing to a bigger push than we have seen in a while

If he were really that desperate he would have fired himself as GM before he fired Eberflus.

For some reason I kinda think they will be more aggressive than usual this free agency. Maybe its the trades and quickly firing Eberflus. This feels a bit different.

LOL. This is such bizarre analysis because he's comparing cheap offseasons with very cheap offseasons.

Nothing in this analysis suggests they will (or have) spent "big" in FA. It's been various levels of cheapness. They are a little less cheap when they have a new DC. That's it.
You mean his 11-level smugness didn't convince you?

For the people that can't listen right now, can we get some bullet points!!?

Bullet points

Cowboys are insanely cheap with acquiring players for returning DC’s.

They are slightly less cheap acquiring players for new DC’s.

There ya go.

That’s Bobby belt for ya.

I remember a few years ago he got smug with me on twitter. Because he mentioned how young the cowboys roster was and I said “it doesn’t necessarily mean anything because of how high turnover is and it only matters if the young players develop into good players”

He told me I was stupid for not thinking it’s super important to have a young roster.

A few years later…. The cowboys roster has only gotten worse and the cowboys as a team have only gotten worse. Goes to show how much that “young roster” mattered.
