I think the term "disappointing" could be taken a couple different ways.

Is he disappointed in Bern? Or is he disappointed in that Bern needed another surgery or that the timing of the surgery was disappointing?

That's what I was trying to get to. It's not clear in the article. Bottom line - he needs to be healthy for camp.
