What part of the metroplex are you in? Pecan Lodge is popular, but I'm not a fan.

I like Lockhart, Slow Bone, and Mike Anderson's.

If you want steak, try Bob's Steak and Chop House.

If you want BBQ, hit North Main BBQ in Euless. They're only open Fri, Sat and Sun, and have been there for years.

See that's the thing . I was hoping to find a place that has both?

Anyone tried Risckys in stockyards ?

Well, you.d probably be getting sub-par bbq and steaks at a place that sells both. I may be wrong. You must have quite an appetite if you want both at the same meal.heh

You aren't going to find a place that does both well. Try Rudy's BBQ for a quick lunch. They have pretty good BBQ and a few locations. Bob's is good for steak, as is Truluck's.

I recommend you just stop short of DFW and land in Albuquerque. Take a short drive to Rio Rancho and come on over to ABQ's back yard. I can have decent BBQ from the smoker to the table in 24 hours (no less). I have inch and a half Rib Eyes in the deep freeze. Few hours to thaw, a nice Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Onion Powder and Chile Pepper Flake dry rub. Get a quick sear on it and let it grill for 5 on each side, take them off the fire, wrap them in foil and let them sit for about 10 minutes to render. Plate them, slap a generous slice of decent real butter on top and serve them up with a Chopped Green Chile, fresh sauted onion and Mushroom relish.

The Girls can have spicy Bloody Mary's or whatever they want. We can have a couple of Leinenkugel Harvest Shandy's, maybe a couple of shots of decent Canadian Wisky and a nice cigar or two.

Anyhow, that's what I might do.

Duane, goes without saying that you are always welcome. Just bring a lite jacket. It's getting into the 60's in the evenings so a jacket, a pair of clean underwear and a toothbrush is about all you need.

The best place for BBQ in the stockyards of fort worth is Coopers.

My favorite bbq place is in McKinney (far north dallas). Hutchins BBQ. Very, very good. Best bbq I've had, not counting my own.

2 good choices. I've been going to Hutchins since I was a kid.

Riskys in Stock yards is just average BBQ for Texas.
Yes. Been there. The H3 and Cattleman on the corner at Stockyards are better Steak places.
