I need the experts at CowboysZone to settle a argument for me. It seems my co-workers and I disagree on the best WR the Cowboys have had since drafting Michael Irvin. In the 19 years since "The Playmaker" came to the Cowboys, there has not been an exceptional amount of talent at that position. This prompted a discussion at work about who the next best WR has been since Irvin was drafted and I came up with the perfect solution with this poll. This could be a player drafted, traded for or free agent it doesn't matter how they got here. Please explain your choice so I can share with the group I work with.

It's tough to qualify this sort of thing. Are we talking pure production? Skill? Speed?

In terms of straight up talent, no question that TO is the best on that list. But I voted TG because when he's on the field, the guy is consistent. Sure hands, precise routes, age-defying speed and remains the yin to every yang we have on the other side of the field. No character issues... hell, no issues period. He ended up being a lot less fragile than we were led to believe, as well.

TO may be the better athlete, but I feel much better when the ball is on it's way to Glenn's hands.

Jimmy Smith. :banghead:
Time to get over that one...let's move on.

BTW I would have voted for the Rocket had he come here a few years earlier but by the time he got to us he was mostly used up...So I had to go with Glenn.

I voted TO but really I think glenn is the better receiver. We are freaking stacked at receiver, even if they are old.

If Owens can just put a cork in it and manage to not drop so many footballs this year we will be really stacked.

cork or no cork if that ****** will just catch the ball we are on par with the best teams in the league at receiver. Talent-wise, this is the best team since the90's

I'll have to go with Harper. I'm still grateful to a player who played big in the biggest of games for us.

He finished his career as a Commander. He sucks.

Go rewatch the '92 and '93 NFC Championship games, and tell me how much he sucks. I couldn't care less who he got his last paycheck from.

Yeah or signed one in FA....well maybe I'll give Glenn a pass.

You make a good point, Alvin was pretty much the best receiver drafted in the post Landry era, I won't count J. Smith, since he didn't do anything for us.

Its TO. I hate em and won't really vote for him here. If he wasn't such a dousche bag, I would vote for him but at the same time, I won't deny him his due.

what WR's have we really drafted since irvin?

harper
bryant
mcgarity

and a whole lot of nobodies.

here's to hoping with our (2) #1's next year, cleveland sucks enough to get us mcfadden and with our 2nd 1st we can get a sweed or another passionate WR in here.

time to get young again there.

I agree, I wish they would've done something about the WR pos. on the first day of the draft.

Other than Harper, Jimmy really didn't do a great job of drafting WRs for the Cowboys, but he didn't really have to, he had Irvin. There's a rare criticizm of Jimmy from me. But Jerry has done even worse.

I guess Kevin Williams was decent, he helped in spots, remember him making that big catch against the Giants in '95 that catch helped them win that game and get in position for home field advantage, who knows maybe they don't win the SB that year without that.

Voted Terry Glenn.

And he's currently tied with TO at 30 each.

I'm guessing these are the two you're disagreeing about?

Haha did this poll really need to have this many options? Williams, McKnight, Davis, Miller, and Bryant have NO place among the rest.

Heck, I would've put Ernie Mills on there instead of B. Davis, atleast he did something, he was having a good, productive year in '98 before his injury.
