Many are forgetting the most underrated WR to wear a Cowboy uniform: Frank Clarke. He was a very good player in the 60's.

Played WR early in Cowboys career but i only remember him as a TE. He wore 82.

Some very good WR combos over the years in Big D:

Clarke - Hayes
Pearson - Hill
Irvin - Harper
Owens - Glenn
Dez - Miles

Irvin - Ismail or Irvin - Moss could have been the most special

Not speaking for anyone else, but there were a ton of incompletions and INT on his targets. The risk of targeting Owens almost equaled the reward.

Owens had the largest single negative effect on Romo's INT % and completion % of any receiver. If you remove all the passes to Owens, Romo's career rating goes up from 95.8 to 96.2.

Fair enough but despite his errors he was still an elite WR for us. He completely dominated

Sherrard played in only one season for Dallas due to his injuries. Joey Galloway, Kelvin Martin, Keyshawn Johnson and probably a few more guys did more for the Cowboys.

Frank Clarke has to be on the list!

He played WR most of his Cowboy career. He was the Speed receiver before Bob Hayes. He was moved to TE later in his career. His average yards per reception was 18.6.

Years rec yards avg long TDs
Frank Clarke 1960-1967 281 5,214 18.6 80t 50

He definitely should be on the list.

Irvin/Moss would have blown away any other tandem. Even if it would have been only for a very short time.

It would have only been for 20 games on a Cowboys team that was in deep decline. Hard for that tandem to blow away what the tandems of Pearson/Hill and Irvin/Harper accomplished over a period of years on some great Cowboy teams that won championships.

Not accomplishment. Just pure ability.

Only if the rest of the Cowboys were as good as the 1992-1995 Cowboys teams - QB, offensive line, etc.

By 1998 and 1999, there wasn't much of a remnant of the old dynasty left. I think Irvin and Moss would still have played well, but not up to full potential.
