Sure this will likely be a two-man race, but what the heck...

Who will be the first to point out that Quincy isn't an option...

I wonder if there are any Bledsoe lovers around who will point out that he holds the single season record as a cowboy for something or other and should be considered on the list.

Oh, I was supporting that hypothesis. Just pointing out the possibility, kinda like someone would point out Carter is missing.:D

Well, seeing as how Roger is the greatest quarterback of all time, it probably is therefore axiomatic that he is the greatest Cowboys quarterback of all time.

I go with Staubach. He dwarfed the other QBs of his era.

Troy holds most of the passing records for Dallas so I'll go with Troy

For me it was a hard choice between Meredith and Staubach. I think if Don would have had Tony D he may well have produced as much as Roger.

I was at the '66 Championship game and bam, bam: Hayes fumbled the first to KOs and the Pack was up 14-zip. Dandy brought them back and got ahead (I think) and then Bart Starr showed his stuff. Dandy hung in until the end though and almost pulled it off.

I'd hat to have to live on the difference between the two. Very different personalities in some ways, but very much alike in a lot of others...

And he had the most wins of any QB in the 90's.

I think a poll like this should be qualified. I think before you can vote one way or the other, you have to have had opportunity to see these players play. Otherwise, how can you judge fairly?

True, although I credit wins as a team accomplishment more than an individual one. As for holding individual records in passing Troy owns most of them.

I wasn't born in time to see him play but I voted Staubach over Aikman, because from what I've seen/heard Staubach was incredable.

I think this is somewhat miss leading as well. More games played in Troy's era as opposed to Roger or Dandy Don. Passing game and introduction of rules changes have given modern players huge advantage in this regard. Winning percentage is probablay a better indicator rather then total wins. I don't know who owns that record from a QB perspective (relative to the Cowboys) but that's probably a better way of looking at it IMO.

Excellent Joseephus. I vote Staubach over Aikman also, but that is a very good point you made.

I look at each one of these guys are great QB's who is the best? That is really more of a matter of opinion than hard core facts. As you said there are factors in terms of the rules. As for winning percentage that is a team accomplishment not a QB accomplishment. No matter how good a QB is if you don't have the players around you, you will not win which in turn will affect your winning percentage. I never apply team accomplishments with individual accomplishments
