The Patriots game will define our coaching staff.
Everyone said it, we needed that game. Looking back, I still stand by that statement - we needed that game. No, I don't mean we needed to win it; we needed to lose it. As horrible as that sounds, consider last season, and the many seasons before. How many times have we seen the season spiral downwards after a great streak?
This is where the coaching staff needs to prove their worth. Keeping the players and coaches focused after a tough loss such as the Patriots game is what will define greatness in our coaches.
Last season, we had a great streak when Romo took over. The collapse we saw though was horrid, and leading into the Seahawks wildcard game, who thought that even had we by chance made it past that game, the same team would show up the following week in the divisional playoff game? Or the NFC Conference championship? Or the Super Bowl? I will always have faith in the 'Boys, but the realist in me could not see that happening.
Now here we stand - 5 wins 1 loss. First place in the NFC East. Where do we go? Do we once again spiral downwards, stumbling into the playoffs?
This game needs to be seen as an opportunity; an opportunity to prove that we will overcome any obstacle thrown before us. I felt that the Buffalo game showed signs of that, but this is the big one.
Step up, or step out. :starspin
