Best team in the NFC?

I think we underestimate our team. Trying not be homers. But I think there is a strong chance we are the best team in the nfl. We all hope we can go 5-3 or 6-2... but why should we even THINK any team has beaten us this year?

We're 5-3, and no team has BEATEN us. We're just as easily 8-0.

I don't think there is a question that we're the class of the NFC East.

The eagles are all nostalgia, and people not wanting to underestimate what they can do. But their stock is falling quickly. And we owned both the Giants and the Commanders.

Tampa Bay's stock is falling quickly too.

And Carolina, quite frankly isn't as good as advertised.

And the Falcons are a one dimensional team, who won't be beating good teams this year. Who did they beat this year? Philly by 4 points? Thats it... Then they lose to Seattle (despite the fact that we owned them all day), and New England (who isn't last years new england).

The Falcons are barely beating teams that aren't even good.

Our biggest game for the rest of the year is against Kansas City or Denver. But Kansas City is another team who has yet to beat GOOD teams. Denver hasn't owned any good teams either. They squeaked by San Diego, beat jackonsville by 13 (and the jags are only decent), their biggest win this year is against philly, and im convinced they aren't that good.

I think the only word missing from your post is potential!! We certainly have the potential to be the best team, however, being the best team means being consistent, something we have yet to do! I think if we put a few weeks together like the ones we've had against philly, AZ, and NY, I think a strong case could be made for us being the best team in the NFL. Until we get consistent, we are a very good team that has lost a couple heartbreakers.........greatness is on the way once again........just not here yet

not going to say we are the best NFC team, but i honestly believe we will be a contender before its all said and done, Carolina is for real, i dont see why people think they are not as good as advertized. i would put Atlanta in the lead at this point, but i dont fear them,

I think we have the best team in the NFC when everybody comes to play for 60 minutes.

Our defense has proven that they are one of the top defenses in the league....if not THE top.

Our offense has alot to prove yet.

I disagree. We are not the best team in the NFC. Not yet. Our O needs to be little more consistent and we need a better kicker. Hopefully within a month, those two things will happen.

I think the only thing our offense has to prove is that it can be consistent!! It has proved that it cant be stopped when everyone does their job correctly! If they can stay consistent, its all uphill!!

Not yet but were getting close to being the best of the NFC. Now of the NFL, i think were still quite a bit behind of Indy and the Steelers.

I think we are the best team in the NFC but one injury to Bledsoe and well I don't even want to think of it.

Look at the teams you would consider being better than us:
Carolina
Atlanta

neither have a great offense. Atlanta is one dimensional, and we're simply better than Carolina. Carolina hasn't play a hard team ALL year. new orleans, New england, miami, green bay, arizona, detroit, minnesota... talk about soft

I hope you don't have Seattle up above us.

One injury to Peyton Manning... One injury to carson palmer... i mean what are you even thinking?

As for being behind Indy and Pittsburgh. That simply isn't true.

Indy is good and all and undefeated, but talk about the easiest schedule so far in football... Baltimore, jacksonville, cleveland, tennessee, san fransisco, st. louis, houston... well maby not as easy as carolina's.

And the Steelers also have had a fairly easy schedule. and the tough patches, are where they struggled.

All of these "good teams" in the AFC... have **** easy schedules. Where as the NFC is in my estimation even a little tougher. At least in the NFC South and NFC East. In fact there are probably only 4 good divisions in the nfl.

Nope. It is the Philly game in 2 weeks. A loss there, we are just another team chasing the Iggles. They are the standard bearer in the NFC.

Most teams are an injury away. Agreed.
What I am saying is at this time we look like the team to beat , but there is a lot of football to be played , so lets see how well we are set up when there are 3 or 5 games left. one game at a time .
Even though I think we are better than Philly . We do have them in Philly and we did just spank them and they did just get spanked.
Hopefully they have not an ounce of pride left or we could be in for a dog fight.

I like your confidence, but our OL worries me with Tucker and Pettiti at tackle. Also, Al Johnson keeps screwing up on the snaps this year too...not good.

I hope Crayton comes back 100% and we can also sign Cundiff again before....

THE PLAYOFFS! ;)

I dont think our O line is in that badda shape. I think it is definitely something to pay CLOSE attetntion to, but they played really well today against pretty good pass rushers. I think we'll be ok against philly, it may not be like it was the first time, but mcnabb wont stand a chance, and our o-line will have 2 weeks to get ready for them!! I think we're playoff bound and this year might just be different than the last time we got in.

I was a Carolina doubter, however, having seen snippets of their games(I usually watch the Boys at the sports bar), they look for real. Smith gives them that break away threat at all times, and the fact they have their power running game back, they are just that much better. I thought they would miss Jenkins more than they have. Peppers is arguably the best player in the NFL.

Atlanta, truthfully doesnt scare me. Sure Vick is extremely talented, and I think Dunn is one of the top all around backs, but their defense lacks real play makers. Brooking may be the most overrated LB out there. He's good, but just like Urlacher, people hype him too much. Carolina is better than Atlanta IMO.

Tampa Bay really had me thinking they were gonna be real good. Booger McFarland is starting to play to the level they thought he could. Barber is still a good CB, and Derrick Brooks is as good as advertised. The defense is good, not as good as the SB winning one, but it's definately very good. Gruden has built this team to his liking, and we saw it early, problem is, Griese was going to be a big part of their success. I don't hink Chris Simms is going to get it done. 10 points against SF? Carnell is for real, and Pittman gives them a nice 2 headed running attack. Galloway looks great, I think both teams really got a good deal in that trade.

It's a 16 game season, and that's why no one has yet knocked off Philly. But they look flat. They looked real good for a stretch today. But honestly, that team is not as good as they were. I think Philly is missing Simon a bit more than people think. The pass rush doesn't seem as good as it has been in recent years, and the secondary is getting exposed a bit. McNabb definately is soldiering this season out. I don't like Philly, but I have to respect DMac, he is a tough customer, and always has played through aches and pains. That hit against ATL in the opener may have signaled the end of Philly's dominance. McNabb really hasn't looked the same, and every hit he takes, he seems to be whincing.

Seattle, that is a team that honestly can make a good case for being a top team out there. I know we should have beat them, but still, they pulled it out. They've looked real good in the other games I've seen so far this year.

Dallas is definately in the top 5 teams in the NFC.

I agree with you in part. The Eagles game in 2 weeks will define the rest of the season. If the boys can control the Eagles a second time, then this team is one of the best teams in the NFC, if not the best. The Eagles have some real problems, but they have the potential to turn it around. Right now I don't see it. The cowboys are in the top 3 of best teams in the NFC. (Cowboys, Giants, Panthers). I would say the Bucs as well, but they have QB problems.

Let's not forget Seattle now in the NFC. We're difinetly rising and I like our defense better than any team in the NFC. As I see it right now.

  1. Atlanta
  2. Seattle
  3. Dallas
  4. Giants
  5. Carolina
  6. Tampa bay/Commanders
