Again he grew up in Brooklyn and only moved from there at 14. He has not always been a CA guy.

Your examples are terrible. Sham has been the voice of the team and Babe was on the team.

Al covered the Dodgers and Lakers. He never covered the Rams or Raiders specifically and even if he was a Rams fan that does not preclude him from liking the Giants too. He certainly gushes enough when they do well on his broadcasts.

seriously?

Al has covered a lot of teams. He is a damn legend.

I get it though, you are right. Al has a secret hatred of Dallas and a secret love of the NY Giants going back to his extensive days as a NY Giants fan in the 1950's. You got me.

When I think NY I think Statue of Liberty, The Big Apple, The Yankees and of course Mr. NY himself Al Michaels.

Here is MR. NY Al Michaels talking about his FAVORITE FOOTBALL TEAM HIS FAMILY HAD SEASON TICKETS TO, THE LOS ANGELES RAMS.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/rams/la-sp-rams-al-michaels-20161214-story.html

“We had just moved here from New York. My father took me to the stadium, and it was exhilarating as a kid to walk in there. It was one of those childhood memories you don’t forget.”

Michaels was 14 at the time, and though he grew up in Brooklyn rooting for the Dodgers, he became “a gigantic Rams fan” after his family moved to Southern California and purchased four Rams season tickets at the 35-yard line with an “average seat price of $3.90,” Michaels said.

I think he is lying though and he was originally supposed to star in Seinfeld.

I never said he hated the Cowboys. I said he gushes when the GIants do well disproportionately to anyone. It doesn't matter who NY is playing.

He grew up in Brooklyn. It is what it is.

I don't know why you are getting bent out of shape about it.

I sure hope he doesn't call a Rams-Cowboys game. You guys will be in a ball in the corner crying after the first rams first down call from AL.

Please point me to the part that says he is not a Giants fan. I am comfortable with him having an affinity to LA teams. The two notions are not mutually exclusive.

Your response to people saying he gushes about the Giants is to say that he has nothing to do with NY. That is false. You have anything else to say to refute that or are you just going to continue to point out his ties to LA?

No one is in a ball. Al is the man. I put him at or near the very top of play by play guys in any sport. He can do a little NY gushing if he wants. In his case it's not distracting. BTW, Gifford was very similar. Both legends.

Theebs, you should just chill. You are getting worked up for no good reason. No one is going to be crying and you are trying real hard at this point to deflect from the substance of the argument.

The way he calls the games disproportionately in unprofessional. He does have profound ties to NY given that he was born and raised there. I can recognize that without getting worked up.

am I the one who bumped this thread to try and prove that he is the one that is right? Don't think so. So maybe you should chill, especially since you obviously didn't realize he was a damn rams season ticket holder. I would say I am not deflecting at all. He was a Rams season ticket holder who grew up loving Hockey and Baseball.

this whole argument has no merit whatsoever.

You just called Al Michaels unprofessional. Al Michaels.

So that pretty much sums it up.

I have not been on much the last couple of days. Came back and responded to your post. You really are going to take issue with that? I didn't even bump it.

I said a particular act he does is unprofessional. I never realized you were such a fanboi of his. This is kinda interesting.

You aren't even denying he does it either. The only argument you made that contradicts it was wrong. No one is saying he wasn't an LA area fan.

I have said repeatedly he has done nothing but gush over Jerry, the cowboys and the new stadium for as long as I have been alive.

This is kinda interesting.....yea you figured me out just like that other dude here who stalks me and thinks I am a giants fan did. You figured it out scooby good job.

I mean I am a Cowboys season ticket holder but have never said I am not a Giants fan right just like Al hasnt.

and on my liking Al. I always have. I loved him on MNF growing up and continue to enjoy him calling games to this day.

I think Al is still the best but I happen to love Kevin Burkhardt and how he calls football games. I think he should be the number 1 guy somewhere, him and Lynch were outstanding together.

oh dear, I just realized Kevin Burkhardt is from NY too......kinda interesting. What does this mean?

I'm talking about calling the game. Jerry nor the stadium play the game. The new stadium is not even a decade old yet. What he does pregame and at half time has never been at issue.

Thanks for revealing how you are unobjective when it comes to Al Michaels though. Fanboi indeed.

Really all I am getting out of this is that you cannot get over yourself in an argument.

I am getting out of this is you can't accept you are wrong and didnt realize he was a Rams fan.

and Yes I like Al. I loved Al, Frank and Dan on monday nights. It always felt special because of the way they called the games.

in the future when you take a pompous I am right and you are wrong tone with someone and bump the thread, make sure you are right in the first place.

and how dense are you? I am talking about how he has called cowboys games forever. He has always gushed over Jerry going back to the early 90s, he has always gushed over the cowboys for my entire existence....I can remember Dallas-Miami on mnf in 84 and Al called the game the same way and since the new stadium has opened he has been even more positive and upbeat towards Dallas.

I honestly dont care at all what you think about me. Now you are going to say I can't get over myself because I am right and Al is not a giants fan and does not call games with a NY Slant? Whatever. Good for you.

and to be clear I always listen to Brad, Babe & Kristi call the games, home games from my seat in the stadium because I am a cowboys fan. I dont even hear the tv broadcast until the next day or so.

but again I guess I can't get over myself. Thanks for bumping the thread you are so humble.

Do you think that him being a Rams fan precludes him from being a GIants fan in some way? Until you explain that you can wave your hands at his Rams fandom all you like. I've granted him being an LA area fan repeatedly.

I did not bump this thread either. People had posted on this today, yesterday, etc. Go look for yourself.

And you were wrong when you said he had nothing to do with NY. I realize that it is tough for you to come to grips with being wrong on a point of fact and feel the need to make it into some bigger mano a mano narrative but nevertheless Al Michaels was born and raised in Brooklyn. Al Michaels spent his formative years in the NY metro area.

And how dense am I? I just got done telling you that it wasn't about the Cowboys. It was about the Giants. I have watched him cover the GIants against other teams and he does the same thing.

You still haven't addressed how him being a Rams fan precludes him from being a Giants fan as well.

And what difference do your season tickets make in any way shape or form? You keep on bringing it up as if it is relevant.
