This week's game should be a lot of fun to watch. Rhein Fire travel to Amsterdam (3-1). Amsterdam seems to be on a roll, so it could be the most difficult test that Rhein and Henson have faced all season. The only downer for me is that I'll have to watch Timmy "Pop Gun" Chang for a Quarter.

Do any of the NFLE QB's play the entire game? Is it a rule the QB has to shart time?

I don't think it is a rule, but I think it is the unwritten rule and from what I've seen THIS SEASON everyone is doing it. This had to be the policy if that 3rd string guy got on the field this week (Bowkamper I think his name was), and almost threw the game away.

Chang has an injured ankle, so maybe you don't have to watch him on saturday. But then Bowenkamp will play in the 2nd quarter, and that is even worse.

Why is it so hard for folks to understand that this is a developmental league. Guys have to get their snaps. It would really suck to be allocated to an NFLE team and not play at all.

True. NFL teams send guys over there to get snaps and all the teams in NFLE allow the backups to get some playing time.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this weeks match-up. It should be quite fun and interesting to watch. I hope that Henson continues to have a strong showing and it should be a darn good Qb match-up NFLE wise.

Thats true, but it has happened before. When Chutch played there, intitially there was some rotation, i.e. 2nd quarter other QB will play, but later I think only Hutch played.

When Clint Stoerner played, both times, he was the only QB playing, no other QB was rotated. So it kind of depends on the coach. But I agree, we cowboys fans obviously want to see Henson play all the of the game, but the coaches have to look out of all the guys.

Aren't some of the players unallocated - IE, germans who just play in that league?

Or there are players from America who are drafted by NFL E teams. If I am correct Bowenkamp is not an allocated player? I just checked, yes he is not a allocated player.

If you see NFL Europe roster there about 5-10 players that were not allocated on each team the very least. There is certain number of players from native country where the team is from and other national players ( i.e. Mexico, Japan or other countries etc.)

I was wondering who the heck he was throwing to. I looked at the replay and the nearest Fire player was 7-10 yards away.

But it is a bit of a different time now, NFLE is scraping for players more than ever -- teams are reluctant to send guys if all they are going to do scratch their bratwurst all game and not see any snaps.

Of course, the league wouldn't be getting any press at all if it weren't for Henson -- so he should be seeing all the action.

Yeah last year it was Jarred Payton the big name guy. And he did play pretty well, although he didn't get enough snaps in my opinion.

It seems like NFLE is pretty much evolving into NFL Germany. Thats probably the downfall of it over there. I hope this year Cowboys take a shot at another QB, like UDFA to develop and send him over there next year, that way there is some football fix during spring for us Cowboys fans anyway. Cause if Romo goes off into FA, we better start looking at developing another one soon, unless they sign Romo to another extension.

There are Germans who just play in the league. Some of them even get invited into NFL training camps. One of the Rein safeties (Richard Yancy) is a German. He made some pretty decent plays the las games. He played for my hometown team one year after I quit playing. He was kind of skinny back then.
NFLE is becoming very popular in Germany. Ther german teams (first Frankfurt and Rhein ~ 40000) always had a good attendance. In Barcelona and Scotland they games were sometimes played in front of 5000 people. So the NFL brought more teams to Germany.
