Big mistake giving up a first rounder

We did. I don't know enough about this player and his contract, to say whether I like it or not....so, I'll just continue to mess with some of these feeble minds....lol
Go feed cow and shut up...

You're not as special as they think you are.

They're already fed....you want to feed on my bull? I bet you'll like his milk
Yeah, your farm is all messed up if your bull gives milk.

Go bail some hay...point to the moon.

It’s a gamble for sure but the first round pick isn’t until 2027. With Lamb and Pickens they could easily get the trade capital back in that draft. I think if you add two more defenders with your first round picks in 2026 the defense could be good enough to support the offense next season.
The Jets get their pick of Dallas 1st round pick or Green Bay 1st round pick in 2027!

If you just look at players and picks, this is how the two big interlocked trades shake out.

We receive
Quinnen Williams
Kenny Clark
Green Bay 2026 1st - 670 pts (proj)
Green Bay 2027 1st - 670 pts (proj)

We give
Micah Parsons
Mazi Smith
Cowboys 2026 2nd - 460 pts (proj)
Cowboys 2027 1st - 1200 pts (proj)
Trade value of a 2027 1st is a mid 2026 2nd.

Think back to Joey Galloway and that awful descent (after giving up 2 first round picks) with a degrading Aikman. Think to Herschel walker and all the draft picks that built young and affordable talent.

Giving up all of your ammunition for things that are already rusting.

Very very bad move.

And Dak wont be it.
Look at how immensely talented the defenses were the first 2 years of Parsons.

With these trades, Dallas defense is still worse than those years.

It is absolute insanity... But hey, Dallas fans have been none the wiser for a very long time now.

The closest Jerry got to actually making substantive changes was with Parcells when Dallas was a bottom feeder and he needed to market momentum of the Cowboys to get AT&T stadium built.

The only way the Cowboys improve is if fans simply stop watching them.
Respectfully disagree. Quinnen is no worst than top 5 at DT. My rankings at DT:

1) Dexter Lawrence
2) Jalen Carter
3) Jeff Simmons
4) Vita Vae
5) Quinnen

Quinnen is top 5 in my book and the new anchor of our defense. As Philthy has shown us, you win and lose games in the trenches.

Cowboys have invested in the OL, now they are (starting) to fix the DL. Then we will be able to compete.

Side note: I hope they throw all their picks at the defense in this draft to build around Q.

You have Vita way too high. He’s a nice player but he’s not in the same category as the others

Quinnen is an all-pro, top 3 pick. There's was little to zero chance of picking up someone of his talent with 2027's first round pick
Is the defense better than the first 2 years parsons was here? Is the team overall from those first 2 years better now than that one? Think coaching, chemistry, etc.

There is your answer. it is quite simple.

Hmm I think of Guyton, Mazi, Charlton, Claiborne, Carpenter, and LVE as busts! It’s not guaranteed we will draft great players. I’ll take Williams we know what he brings to the table versus tge unknown. Just my opinion.
LVE should not be in the same sentence as the other guys. Was a great player when healthy. Gave you three pro bowl level seasons.

Other than that, I agree whole heartedly with your post.

I agree. This was a bad move.

Unless.

You are loading up for a run next year.

We gave up a first round pick in 2027, which in the trade market has the current value of a second rounder. But, no matter how you spin it, getting a 27 year old perennial pro bowler and 3 time all pro who is an impact player in both the run and passing games is much better than gambling that your first round pick will even produce a capable starter.

Well, Dan Quinn’s not coming back and looks like we’re stuck with Eberflus.

Draft picks are like lottery tickets might win might not Williams is a proven commodity way better!
