Lewis, Armstrong and Steele all had real nice games. - Lewis came up big in the early part of the game and got his well deserved INT. - Armstrong, who I do get on, came on with a sack, pressure, TFL and blocked punt - Steele, real nice comeback game after last week - he needed that for his confidence going forward. Its like I always say - Stars are going to star but sometimes its your role players that will determine how far you go.
100% Agree. I was looking for someone who propped them. Kudos my brother! We had stars on those 90's Teams, but I keep saying, it's the role players that win you the Super Bowl. Our D-Line rotation, def backs like Washington, Novacek out of nowhere, Alvin Harper a big play, had some journeymen on that best offensive line in history too. We re-signed all the stars, but couldn't afford the role players, and that is what killed the dynasty. Even Ken Norton became a 'role player' with the salary cap. A lot of our role players this year are FAs next year, need to win it now, and I hope the new coaching staff does the same great job working with the existing GMs on hits with journeymen and later rounds draft picks.
Don't forget Anthony Brown. He's not a shut down corner but no one said he was. He's been MUCH better than given credit for. Who's the clown on this board that said he's not a NFL cornerback? I dare you to step forward.
Brown has definitely been playin a lot better this year, gonna need him to be solid down the stretch.
