Biggest surprise on Defense?

The fact many players are being mentioned above show it is the unit as a whole coached by Marinelli.......and of course, the turnovers being created which were scarce before as well. Can't wait to get some of the players back next year who are on IR, i.e. Lee, Gardner, Durant and others. Coupled with another draft, TC and the future looks good. But we gotta keep Marinelli somehow.

Definitely the whole unit. Not as many holes as you'd have expected coming in to this season. Sure makes improving next year a little less daunting.

Hitchens, fourth rounder, rookie, had to learn and start multiple positions, did well.

Including coaches. Marinelli is performing miracles.

The whole unit.

A collective unit.

They play for each other.

They get fired up.

They make mistakes - they don't collapse,they look for the next play!

THEY..... DONT...... QUIT!!

He has been anything but.

No, he's still JAG. If he was anything more, teams would focus on him, double him, move protections to him, chip him. He elicits none of that. No one on the defensive line does. If we had that "guy", it would change the whole dynamic. It would free up other guys.

Mincy would make a fine backup, if he'd stay in shape and dedicated. But that's it. Maybe a marginal starter on the strongside.

Crawford playing so well has given this defense a chance. Spencer coming along has given this defense a chance. Adding Brent to the rotation has helped. Hayden not being a complete liability has helped. Mincey playing above average has helped.

I think the play of our linebackers has been critical as well. Hitchens far exceeding his expectations. RoMac. Carter has even upped his game this last month. Lawerence as well.

This defense is playing with a lot of confidence and hustle right now, playing as a team. But we still have JAGs playing in all but a few spots.

Anyone else feel embarrassed to be a Cowboy fan after reading another 'fan's' bogus thoughts about a guy whom has done nothing but improve each week and whom has helped make this defense respectable? SMH
