Biggest 'WORRY' Position for the defense

If one position worries you the most for the defense this year what would it be?

1. The RDE Position - With a 2nd round rookie immediately penciled in

2. The Weak Side Linebacker - A battle between Justin Durant (A two down linebacker in Detroit who can't cover) or Bruce Carter who really struggled with the position last year.

3. The Strong Side Linebacker - Most likely a battle of Devonte Holloman and Kyle Wilber

4. The Free Safety - A battle between JJ Wilcox, Matt Johnson, Ahmad Dixon or Jakar Hamilton

5. The 1 Technique - A battle between JAGS Nick Hayden and Terrell McClain, and a 7th Round Pick

What are your thoughts? My biggest worry is probably the weak side linebacker. Plays such crucial role in this defense.

The whole d line is a worry besides selvie. The whole lb core is a worry and fs and cbs after carr and scandrick. Dline is biggest worry followed by lb.

For me its still defensive end in general. I like Lawrence, I like Selvie, but one is a 2nd round rookie the other has had 1 ok year in his whole career. My grandmom can currently run the same distance and speed as Spencer. DE for me

Safety behind Wilcox. Will MJ ever play? Dixon seems more like a SS. Ughh guess waiting another year on a premier safety, n dont say Church is premier, he is a solid B/B-.

Lots of unanswered questions -- FS, WDE, WLB, head coach.

I want to believe we've gotten better, but want to see Wilcox, Lawrence, Carter, and Garrett prove it.

And the further MLB depth and trust in Hitchens hasn't been earned yet, either.

What are your thoughts? My biggest worry is probably the weak side linebacker. Plays such crucial role in this defense.

The 2nd Safety position is the #1 concern.

The veteran DEs are legit NFL players, they're just not great players.

Strong Side LB is not a big issue. It's a part time position because the defense is in Nickel between 1/3 and 1/2 of the snaps. They have many options at SLB.

Terrell McClain is a legit, albeit blue collar, NFL player. Ken Bishop was my favorite draft pick. Hayden could be passable if he only played about 25% of the snaps.

Backup everything. I like this defense more than most people do, but there is a player at all three levels of this defense where if they go down it could be a long season.

Starts and ends for me with the defensive line. If they are a disaster it doesn't matter who is at safety. You can hide that position with pressure, and you can expose flaws in All Pro's at safety with no pressure.
