NY Daily News:

No Tuna

Bill Parcells is a no-show again at the league meetings. Last week, the NFL announced all 32 coaches would be present. Parcells, about 90 minutes away at his home in Jupiter, Fla., decided not to make the trip. Well, gas prices are up. More likely, he didn't want to subject himself to Terrell Owens questions. Several people indicated this week that Parcells was not on the same page as Jerry Jones about signing Owens. Parcells didn't fight it, but this was not something he wanted to do, sources say. As far as how much longer Parcells plans to coach, this very well could be his final season, which is why he probably consented to dealing with T.O.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's one thing to blow off the Senior Bowl or Combine, as he's done in years past, but this is disrespectful. The only coach not to show up? That's embarrassing. And since he's already in Florida, I'd love to hear his excuse. Jerry, please make sure that your next coach has a little fire in the belly and enjoys traveling to important events and venues. That's not asking too much.

If this is his last year, it is a year or two too late IMO. I respect him as a coach, but not making the playoffs, not winning a playoff game, and faltering down the stretch all three years he has been here have left me feeling he is a better talent evaluator than coach.

hopefully he's focused on the draft, otherwise I see no reason why he feels liek he has to be the only coach to skip it.

well I guess that makes you an idiot. Last time I checked Parcells took Campo's scraps and took them to the playoffs.

That wasn't a playoff game. It was scrimmage for Carolina.

So what does that say for Parcells' other two season here having his "guys" here?

Because my opinion differs from yours that makes me an idiot? It was the great QC that led Dallas to the playoffs, everybody knows that *****.:laugh2:

In case you are too dumb to get it, that was a joke, much like your post. Look I said I respect him as a coach, what has he done since leading us to that great playoff run though?

The old anonymous source(s).... must be a slow sports news day.
Too bad one of those women's basketball players didn't dunk last night.
Maybe this article wouldn't have been written.

In Bill's defense, there are brushfire warnings all over FL. It's extremely dry.
I don't want our coach in harm's way. I'm glad he stayed home. There's
nothing but orange groves, scrub, & farmland on the FL Turnpike between
Palm Beach County & Central FL.:D

The guy is 70+ years old. Let's not burn him out with these scheduled pissin' matches. He's got a team to coach and he does that 24/7. Why would he want to be there? This kind of gig gets old after awhile and I'm sure BP is picking and choosing his battles. Besides, I'm growing tired of all the little innuendos that there's trouble in big D being generated by every writer in the galaxy.

You should have heard Jim Rome ripping him today for not saying anything about TO...suddenly BP is clashing with Jerry...I hate the media and I am so glad I am out of it now.

Parcells didn't go the last 3 years either. Belichick left after the first day this year. Who cares?

What's it going to be then, eh?

Good grief.

Now he is "disrespectful" because he doesn't want a media circus about Owens?

Last I saw it said NFL OWNERS meeting.

Sure the head coaches attend. But it is not completely necessary IMO.

The NFL owners meeting is the one off-season event all the coaches are expected to attend. Among other things, they get together and take a group photo. Thanks to Bill's arrogance, one head will be missing. And if he's ducking these meetings to avoid TO questions--as you seem to imply--that makes him gutless too.
