I got a little busy at work yesterday, so I wasn't able to follow the Boys much yesterday. Yesterday, a co-worker told me that JFE was talking about a recent article where Parcells offered some of his opinions about last year and said some pretty interesting things. My co-worker isn't here right now, and I can't remember what publication this article was written in, but he said it was a very recent article, which I cannot find anywhere on the Net.

If anyone has a link to that article, I would appreciate if you could provide it.

Here is one of the many things Parcells supposedly said over the weekend in the article. I couldn't find the entire column on the NYDN's website.

In a New York Daily News column published over the weekend, Parcells said the Cowboys' signing Owens last year "was not my decision. I had to do the best I could with him, which is what I tried to do."

That's pretty much most of it. He also said that he did some good things in Dallas and got the Cowboys 3 winning seasons in 4 years. I'd really like to see Parcells say this himself, the writer Gary Myers is known for taking quotes out of context and generally being a lousy journalist. There's a reason why he's no longer on HBO.

Interesting

My co-worker said JFE also stated that Bill said that he thought he was very successful in Dallas, but the expectations were too high.

Thanks WG.

One of the things that makes me think that Meyers had an agenda is this comment in the article:

Parcells expressed regret only about how the Cowboys season ended - Tony Romo fumbled the snap on the potential winning field goal in the wild-card game in Seattle - not with his decision to walk away from his fourth head coaching job. "I thought if we get that game, we were going to the Super Bowl," he said.

Now, if you listen to the Podcast that CL provided, Meyers tried to casually convince JFE, Dale Hansen and the audience that Parcells had become old and senile when he said that Parcells had claimed if we beat the Seahawks, that we only needed to beat Chicago to get to the Super Bowl, suggesting that Bill had forgotten that they needed to play 2 games to get to the Super Bowl, which the Anti-Bill and Anti-Everything Cowboys Dale Hansen jumped all over.

Even though I disagree with Parcells, clearly in the article Parcells is saying he basically liked our chances of getting to the Super Bowl if we beat Seattle.
