Wait wait, do I have this right? The Bills owner and new coach let the GM and the ENTIRE SCOUTING STAFF THEY JUST FIRED stay on in their jobs until the day AFTER the draft?

It's a mess in Buffalo.

The same guy owns the Sabres and they're looking for a head coach and GM also.

On the football side of things they've gone all-in with McDermott as HC and it's apparent he gained ownership's ear and out goes the previous GM & coaching staff.

McDermott sounds like a Garrett clone in his interviews & such.

Its cold blooded, but do you really want to do it in January and be assembling a staff right before the Senior Bowl and have them playing catch up through the whole draft process

If I remember correctly, their GM very publicly through the owner under the bus for the Rex Ryan firing. I think dude knew he was next anyway. They probably had their eye on someone, but couldn't hire them until after the draft.

Thats what Jerry would do...no worse...he would run off a SB winning coach....

That isn't worse. The whole point is to win a Superbowl. The Bills haven't done squat in a very long time. If you are going to get rid of them, then you have to do it before they do more damage. Letting them control the draft was a dumb move. At least Dallas got a SB first.

Watch and see if Panthers assistant GM goes there. That would be interesting seeing how the timing of firing and Bills moved ahead of Panthers a few times.

It's pretty hilarious, in a way. Not that people losing their jobs is funny, just the situation/timing lmao

I thought it was kind of odd how ESPN fired a bunch of local reporters a day or two before the draft as they normally have their reporters at team HQs during the draft.
Read a tweet that Ed Werder said after being let go from ESPN they wanted him to go to the Saints HQ or New Orleans to do reports during the draft lol.

I'm not sure why the Carolina staff is that sought after... Yes, they had one SB run. But they've not put together back to back winning seasons in several years.

Agreed. None of that made any sense. Especially the Werder stuff.
