$5-6 million a year is what a decent OL now cost. Get with it a fix the OL already. Its been 10 years and we're still messing around with the same problems. There are players out there available and the market has been set!! Give Colombo the $10 million signing bonus and $5 mill a year and give Davis the $12 million he wants and be done with it. Then sit back and pick up the best backup QB available and wait for draft day. Whats the alternative? Go into the season with $10 million is unused cap space like last year and still have a crappy OL? Go get the players and give them market value so we can make a legitimate run at #6!!!!!!

I didn't want Rivera. Paying too much for a 33 year old isn't the same as paying for a guy who is in his prime or still hasn't reached his prime. Bad example.

They have to realize that while these contracts seem outragous now, in 2 years they will be cheap and fixing the OL will be even more expensive. Its time to go and get it done. I don't care that you got burned on Rivera, get over it and fix it, now!!!!!!

JJ should not blow up the market place and go get an OL in this inflated market. What we are seeing right now is that teams are filling that extra cap space they have by giving increased salaries. Soon teams will be once again cap strapped because this new found cap space will be eaten up by huge contracts of the likes of Steinbach, Winfield, and Dockery. No way do any of those guys deserve the dollars they are due to get.

They got it, does not mean that we should get into the idiocy. I equate it to Gil Meche getting 55 mil from the Royals...it's the market right? So you you must think he is worth it.

at this point $5mil a year for a solid OL who can play multiple positions isn't breaking the bank - it's todays market price.

But a 12 mil signing bonus is far too large. If those reports are correct then no way do you do that deal.
