Blaming the HC, the DC, or even the QB is the real waste of time

You mean we're not going to the SB because we beat a winless Jets team. I just wish people would stop falling for Jerry's garbage. This is a bad Cowboy team. Even if we end up with 7 or 8 wins this team is going nowhere fast. Jerry's SB was beating the Packers and you've been scamed again
The Jones “banana in the tail-pipe” trick happens after every win against an 0-5 team. Talk about “how good this team could be” after every win…and expect patience after year 31 happens.

This team has some good players. Most on offense. But this roster as a whole isn’t built with anything other than fantasy football style drafts. “He’s good. We need a corner. Let’s draft him.”

I seriously wonder if they ever consider what true roster construction is about. Build a complete team around an idea that the whole roster is better than each individual part they bring in.

It’s not about finding good players. It’s about building a good team. Like the great Notre Dame head coach Knute Rockne once said, “I don’t play my 11 best players. I play my best 11.”

I agree but if there's a plan it's over several years. This year wasn't to be competitive. It's a rebuild
If there is a multi year plan on place we will know it between now and the trade deadline. If they make a trade with the draft capital we got from the Micah deal then that'll prove they're just winging it. That will prove it's a moment by moment way of dealing with the franchise. So I'm real curious, and scared, about the next 3 weeks or so.

And it’ll never change. I was at the ballgame sitting right behind the Cowboys’s bench. Watching Jerry and his entourage walk on to the field was a sight to see. The amont of kiss ***** that walked up to them was nauseating. They love every minute of it and with the stadium looking like it was majority Cowboys fans, they have no reason to change anything.

I will say that Jerry and company got out of there quick. I was disgusted and got a jump on leaving before they lined up for the last field goal to win the game. On the walk to the car the police escort was blaring and Jerry’s 3 suv luxury limousine motorcade was leaving the stadium. It was maybe 10-15 minutes after the game. LOL it was like the President of the United States was leaving.

Jerry and his family will never give up the attention and treatment this all brings them. We are simply doomed.

Being from NC and went to the 2 games there when the tuna was here 2 years in a row, crowd was and will be pro boys. Sad they couldn’t come away with the win for the fans. Usually it’s the few panthers fans leaving early.

Whenever I (or many other Cowboys fans) point out the central and fundamental flaw in the Dallas Cowboys and why they struggle year after year - thirty years now - to become a relevant team in the playoffs again, I often receive some fiery darts, lol. It’s fine, it’s an opinion forum.

So first let me say. - Yes, I know the following:
  • Some Cowboys fans think Dak Prescott is the biggest reason we suck. Despite the fact that he’s playing at a high level and that he and the kicker are the only things keeping us from being 0-6. Some folks on here are completely obsessed with Dak to the point of outright trolling silliness.
  • Some Cowboys fans think the head coach Brian Schottenheimer (the 7th HC we’ve had since our last divisional playoff win) is another big reason we suck. Too early for me to tell.
  • Many Cowboys fans believe our defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus (the 10th DC we’ve had since our last divisional playoff win) needs to be fired immediately so we can then hire the 4th DC we’ve had in 22 months. And we may have the least defensive talent in the NFL.
  • Some of our fans think we just need a trade or two for another weapon on offense or a pass rushing specialist on defense and we can somehow become…relevant? It’s a bad dream.
Here’s my point: Whatever you think about the QB, the HC, the DC or any other player or staff member associated with this team, or whatever magical trade you think this team needs, none of any of that is the deeper problem.

The reason we suck, the reason you hate the QB, the HC, the DC, the defense…whatever you are tired of. The REAL problem sits in the owner’s box. No trade, new HC, new QB, new Coordinators…whatever. Nothing will turn this around until the oldest GM in NFL history stops playing with his toy.

We have an owner/GM, and whatever combination of his family you want to include, that does not have a clue how to build an entire NFL organization - from top to bottom.

So feel free to dream of the perfect trade, the next QB we need, the next HC or DC…nothing will ultimately change until something changes at the top of our organization.
The DC is a piss poor coach, another retread hire. As for the players, plan pathetic!

Yes we all know that but there isnt that can be done about it so the players and coaches have to overcome the inept owner/GM

playing zone is just moronic when you dont have the players to do it, Eberflus needs to adjust his scheme or he has to go

The DC is a piss poor coach, another retread hire. As for the players, plan pathetic!
Rookies and 2nd year guys are regressing under Eberflus and his awful empty space zone
players too far away from the ball, too far away from the QB, just out in space covering nowhere

Yet you are still here, lapping up Jerry's bread crumbs, thinking this might be the year. LMAO......

I have been saying it for a long time he keeps us three players away from being competitive at all times.
Exactly like you said they have no idea how to build an entire franchise we build little pieces that keep Us close and most importantly we are on national television playing other lousy teams that is Jerry's win keeping us relative and on television.

It's really sad to lose all these close winnable games just a little better team building would stop the bleeding but you are 100% right he is going to play with his toy the way he wants to till he goes to the box and we have no control other than turning the television off

Well I'll stick with Dak as one of the main problems, thank you very much. You guys continue to let him fool you with regular season stats.

Doesnt mean Jerry does a good job. It's just that extending Dak was part of him doing a bad one. Whether Jerry goes or the QB, either way it'll be a step forward.

Edit: Thanks @ Cowboys, I could have moved into first place in our pick'em NFL game, if they had won against those miserable Panthers, lol. :flagwave:

How many years go by before this plan finally makes us good again? 32 years? 40? And how many chances does any GM have before it’s obvious they don’t know what they’re doing? 30?
In Dallas the GM is on a lifetime contract, we like our guys. You forget Jerry is a football guy and a legend in his own mind. Unfortunately he is still trying to prove those 3 SB wins were because of his football knowledge and he will go to the grave trying to prove it. As they say it is what it is. He’s declining more and more as is evident to most the only problem is who’s in the wings to take over and that may be worse than the cure

What's changed in the past week? Whilst, yes, it's obviously Jerry. id also query some of our fanbase who actually thought we were one or two defensive players from winning a Ring in February. Hope and expectation are to blame.

And who hired the DC who's scheme doesn’t fit the players? It is Jerry
Is there a system that would fit that under resourced group of players? A group of players that lost it's no.1 star a week before the season started.

So many fans appear to have fallen into thinking, because of the Dak led Offense, we were a defensive reshuffle away from glory. If we're looking at the roster.....its not going to be this year. We have consistency at OC (and players) and a ton of resources thrown at our Offense, whilst scrambling around with the knock-off newbies on the Defense.

And some think having Micah made this team championship ready. Please don't say that "he gave us a chance". The Cowboys made Micah, due to him being the kernel of corn in a pile of excrement. With the above average Packers, he is right now, quite average.

What if they made the in-game adjustments, key in on the run, and force the quarterback to beat them?

What if they made the necessary in-game adjustment on 4th and 3 to play press coverage instead of playing 7 yards off?

I believe the DC is very stubborn and refuses to make any adjustments.

Dallas wins with those adjustments so this is a coaching issue
So what you're actually saying is that the Defensive system would of worked had we changed it on that one play.

Im not giving an opinion of Micah, my point is that we cant compare Offense vrs Defensive output when the D is bereft of any talent or continuity.

Yes Jerry prefers spending on his Offense and can only evaluate the Defense on players he see's: one Pass-Rusher (as he can't afford two) and a 'take-away' type of CB.....nobody else matters.

Bob, for the short time I've been here I've always liked your posts.

For some reason we always kind of feel the same LOL

Bob you won't see another SB win in your life time.

The end.
