Bland is unwatchable- a $92 million dollar stiff

The title says it all

He is an awful man-to-man cover guy.
His hips are tight. He has no feel for the game whatsoever..
All of those pics he got were because of Diggs.
He doesn’t have the speed to lock up 1 v 1.
Picks he got were because of pressure in D Quinn's system. He always got beat a lot!

DC and scheme can make that big of difference. I think Bland is an average DB given and elite contract, like most of our guys. He was very good in Quinn’s defense.

I just want to encourage those of you who don't watch games other than Cowboys, to consider that St. Brown, Gibbs, Goff & the Lions do this to a lot of teams. There are reasons they have been one of the top teams in the league for the last several years.

I'm not saying the defense or any player in particular is excused, just that those guys are pretty good.

This is what happens when you have press man DB’s playing zone and 10 off the line of scrimmage not to mention you have Bland playing out of position when he should be in the slot.

I was the first one that told yall bland was.....bland. @TheMarathonContinues was trying to go against it. The jury is out now big dawg.

He a slot cb now after the film got out on him on the outside.

Got a kick out of the front office worried about out a big deal to Parsons but gave out almost the same amount to average players at best.

Yeah, think he might be done. Doesn't even run like the same player.

Funny that Harris's guys are doing great in Chicago and now our guys are doing terrible. Just a really weird coincidence.
No, no.

Coaching matters..

A lot.

This was Jerry’s panic move the week after the trade.

Both Bland and Luepke were both extended in the days after the trade so that Jerry could show that he could retain players and also that he now had plenty of “Micah Money” to throw around.

Tyler Smith came right after that.

Quinns system made Diggs and Bland. Both are not pure cover corners. Both were paid because they got a bunch of interceptions when Quinn was the DC. I am surprised we gave Bland the contract we did.

The good thing is we could cut him after next year if he doesn't produce.

We love over paying players, Diggs, Fergeson, Steele, Bland, and Osa maybe all above average (Steele is the worst), but not worth the contracts they received. I still say Ferg is a Jag, the others at least have a bit more upside.

I don’t recall this. You was saying he was “soft” or whatever you was saying….
Soft mentally yes. I don't think he's physically soft. He doesn't have the temperament or competitive drove to be a 90 million dollar corner. Would've never paid him. He doesn't play with confidence consistently and at corner that's a non negotiable

1000%

Flus was JJ’s hire. He went with familiarity again, and didn’t let his new HC pick his DC.

He chose a zone DC when he built a man coverage roster. Just stupid.

Hopefully they fire Flus, but I have a bad feeling that they will finish strong and JJ will give us his “we are hanging around the rim” speech again and decide to run it back lol
And people talk hiw Jerry is a great GM? The man is completely inept and needs to retire.
