We all have read media reports how the OLinemen are struggling. Well there's a quote in the latest DC.com article where Bledsoe sheds some light on this and indicates (indirectly) that the OL may be better than we think.
Here's the quote:
Bledsoe: "We've been doing a better job in the running game. The thing that we have to do is we have got to get a cohesive unit in our offensive line and get those guys going so that we can be consistent in our pass protection, consistent in our run game with those games.''
That's just it! The OLinemen are struggling because up to now it's never the same 5 guys; it's never the same OL unit. Parcells has been on a mission to experiment which is what's contributing to the OLinemen looking worse than what they can be. I'm not against Parcells' OL experimentation because I think that's what camp is for and you need to find out what guys can do under different scenarios. But now that camp is over, it's time to get the final, starting 5 guys out there so that they can work on continuity with the offensive backfiled. Bledsoe is right and I have a feeling - or at least I hope -that the starting OL will be very good as that continuity settles in. Hopefully that begins in New Orleans on Monday night.
