BLOCKBUSTER Coming?

I keep getting the feeling that a BLOCKBUSTER move is right around the corner for us Cowboy's fans. Something much BIGGER than here-to-fore imagined....

We have been "strangely silent" so far in Free Agency. The 'Boys have a ton of money in the vault at Valley Ranch, yet we keep hearing "whispers" about more cost-cutting moves (like letting Larry Allen and Keyshawn Johnson go).

While Jerry constantly watches his money, THIS IS NOT TYPICAL!!

Could it be that the 'Boys have a "master plan" in mind, but are waiting to "pull the trigger" when the time is right?

Are they trying to save every cent they can in order to "drop a bomb" on our opponents?

I'm not saying that this is ANYBODY's plan, but just an example of what might be lurking around the corner:

Example:

We sign T.O.

Then we sign Vinateri (having had an "understanding" with Rosenhaus...)

Then, we make a few top-dollar, big name signings to fill some holes.

THEN....we announce that we have made a TRADE for one of the top 4 draft picks.

We then go after a more mobile quarterback (which lessens the pressure on revamping the O-line).

Jerry's saying that we were going to be "aggressive" in Free Agency still might come true, only in a different form that anyone expected.

I think that Bill still wants that last trophy before retiring. He wants to go out on top.

Perhaps he has seen the "hand-writing on the wall" for this team as it now stands and is willing to make some drastic moves to alter the course. Sort of an all-or-nothing kind of deal.

This would be right up Jerry's alley. He would agree to it in a heartbeat. It would make the biggest "splash" this year in football.

There is WAY TOO MUCH MONEY sitting at Valley Ranch for us to be this inactive. It is also WAY TOO QUIET. I say something is in the works.

Maybe they're just waiting for the right exact moment to "unleash the dogs" on the rest of the NFL........

I remember in 2004 they were quiet as well. And they kept quiet, and it bit them in the end.

I also think they need to sign a FS as well. While I don't like T.O., if they pull out a Chris Hope, T.O. and Vinatieri signing trifecta, I'd consider that a pretty good job in FA.

Try this:
Key is released
Cowboys trade for WR Rogers of Detroit for #3 receiver
Cowboys trade for DE Abraham (Jets) and plan to use him opposite Ware as
an OLB.

If you guys don't sign TO, your offseason is officially a bust. I'm saying that because it seems that just about everyone on this board is going TO crazy.

Hey, dude! Glad to talk to you!
I have been registered here for like FOREVER, but rarely come over. The "other place" I hang out at went down right as Free Agency got underway and stayed down for two days. I came over to get the latest scoop, and find myself thoroughly enjoying it here.

I plan to be somewhat more regular here now. Some of the "luster" has gone over there for me. (other than that...no comment...ever......so don't ask).

How have you been? Have you been here and posting regularly all along?

I thought that I might have seen ole Roy on here the other day, but if so, it was under a different name, and I wasn't sure.

I enjoy how posters here can take any side of an issue and agree or disagree without being "labeled". As you know, I sometimes take the Devil's Advocate position, just to get folks thinking.

Anyway, it's good to see ya, and let's talk again. I look forward to posting with you and all of the others here. Do you still say, "Mark it down?" hahaha

Signing TO is not a blockbuster it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Shall we send George Teauge to greet him ?

Honest answers please:

Do you want TO to keep up with the division, or do you want TO because you think he would be a nice addition to the team?

I have no doubt that he would make a difference on the field, but I just don't think he is worth the trouble.

As an aside - I don't think the Boys are going to sign him. If they wanted a difference making receiver, they could have tried to sign David Givens. They can also draft Santonio Holmes/Chad Jackson.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I realize I am talking to a Commander fan that probably believes Randle El is a "difference making WR", but Givens is nothing of the sort.

I don't really care what the rest of the division does when it comes to improving the Cowboys.

You might be right, but I think the team who signs him gets a 1-2 year grace period of "good TO" so he can get one more payday.

Its a big time gamble, but the reward is big too.

You don't know Jerry then. This is a Jones move to the very core. The only reason its a question mark is because Bill has to sign off on it.

Hey! Don't include ME in the T.O. sweepstakes!

I have been saying all along that I don't want him here.

I just included him in my blockbuster example to satisfy those who do (cause I knew there would be posts if I didn't) and to make it "bigger" that way.

I have no idea what is coming. Or if anything is coming. Just speculating, that's all.

Was reading on SI.com about half hour ago... and got me to thinking...
There was a mention that the Saints are actively shopping the #2 pick, since they just signed Brees and therefore don't need a QB... I know it would take a ton to move up there, but that's the Leinart spot. I wonder who's going to move up to it - someone will... Just something to ponder...

True. But it's different this time around. Parcells is not new and is'nt trying to work with what he had.

He has not only had time to see what he has, but knows his time is "short" and if he's ever gonna do anything, it had better be right now.

It's easy to see that our NFC East opponents are making some bold moves to out-do one another and we're sitting here and missing the boat.

I just don't think that Jerry will stand for that. If he does, I'll be off of him like a hot stove. (maybe I'll become a baseball fan....) hahaha

2004 was quiet, but looking back at who Dallas had in their sights, that isn't really a bad thing in hindsight.

Other than Berry, who did Dallas really miss out on? Guys like Winfield have been major disappointments.
