Sean Payton strikes again.

The former Cowboys assistant turned New Orleans head coach claimed Rob Petitti and Terrance Copper off waivers and both are now Saints.

Petitti and Copper were the only players the Cowboys cut to be claimed Sunday. The Cowboys are not announcing their practice squad details yet, but they have the opportunity to bring back the following players: QB Matt Baker, OG D'Anthony Batiste, WR Damarius Bilbo, OT Dennis Roland, C Matt Tarullo, RB Keylon Kincade, DE Stephen Bowen; TE Tony Curtis; LB Junior Glymph; WR Skyler Green and NT Montavious Stanley.

They can keep eight practice squad players out of that group. (Swedish linebacker Carl-Johan Bjork is exempt).

Payton has a big job on his hands down in New Orleans. That is quite a terrible team.

Yep, I pull for Peyton to have success and I think Copper and Petitti will help them have it.

the saints should change their name to the cowboy's junior

As opposed to the Cowboys changing their name to the "Mini Jets" a couple of years ago?

I wish Payton luck and he picked up two young players with potential. He needs all the help he can get.

It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys choose to sign Skyler Green to their practice squad or on the other hand if Green decides to sign with another team's practice squad. He sure has fallen far. He was a highly regarded return man at the draft by pretty much everyone and it's not like the Cowboys really reached for him. But, he showed so little in the preseason that his stock has really fallen.

Just like the Broncos of the late 70's.

For the PS I'd definitely like to see Stanley, Green, and Glymph get there. Baker is a no brainer.

Is Glymph eligible?

Funny, most fans couldn't stand Payton when he was here. Now that he's picking up our cast offs he is going to get labeled a genius.:)

Good luck to both players.

I didn't see the word genius thrown out there.

The ESPN crew kept calling him Cooper.

A lot of people do.

If he was named after another precious metal, he wouldn't have that problem.
