is a HOF finalist as a senior candidate.

Hopefully justice is served this time.

Honestly, though, what will it matter now? Bob is dead and won't be able to enjoy it. Does he still have family that can be honored by it? I hope so.

Ask his sisters if it matters I promise you they will tell you it does.

I promised his sister I will go to his induction.

It'd be a shame if they're still holding the Ice Bowl against him.

Where'd you get that picture of him?

That's one of the best I have seen.

Great pic.

Gosselin said when he got the second senior nomination that he thought Bob would get in for sure this time. IIRC every senior candidate who's come up twice has made it.

Let's hope so.

And BTW... Said it before, but can we wear that for a throwback? :)

I dunno. It's been in my "Dallas folder" since 2004. Google maybe?

Here's Bob and Tex from December, 1964.

I read a great article about a year ago about how Bob Hayes, singlehandedly, changed the game on the entire defensive end of the field.
Professional football defensive schemes have never been the same, solely due to Hays, his speed and his abilities to get open and of course, RAC.

It was a great piece of writing, and every word of it was the truth.
They let Lawrence Taylor in. Whatever Hayes did off the field is grade-school compared to Taylors antics. And Hayes was every bit the "game changer" and "scheme changer" that they say Lawrence Taylor to "change the game".

It's an absolute crime that Hayes didn't "get in" while he was alive. A tragedy.

Jerry put both of those guys in the Ring of Honor.

One right before he died and one right after.

Jerry's a little slow on the trigger (as we've seen again recently).

Michael Irvin was just as bad off the field, maybe moreso, too, and he's in

I think Hayes makes it

finally

That is what I was asking about. I'm glad to hear that he still has family that would benefit from it. I just hate it when we honor a guy in death that we wouldn't honor when he was alive, and there is no one there to witness it who belongs to his family. Glad to hear that his sisters are here.

You don't think Shannon Sharpe has a great chance this year? Sharpe has all the TE records.

Sure, but I don't think he goes in ahead of Hayes. Hayes been overlooked for far too long now. But either way, they can put up to 5 people in per year.

I think Woodson, Smith, Hayes, Sharpe and probably tagliabue will go in, though Ralph Wilson could bump Tags. I don't think they would put in two contributors in one year.

But I don't see anyone outside of Woodson and Smith more deserving than Hayes this year.

Ummmmm no he doesnt.

Tony G. passed him in receptions, TDs, and yards.

I don't know exactly how this works, but Bullet's not competing against Woodson, Smith or Sharpe, is he? Since he's a Senior Committee candidate?

Who are the other senior candidates? Is it Humphrey, Kuechenberg and Grimm?

Other than Rod Woodson and maybe Brice Smith, I can't see anyone on that list going in ahead of Bob Hayes, IMO.

Never underestimate the anti-Cowboys bias.
