Matt Cassel will lead the Cowboys to first place

The NFC East is a dark and lonely place. By the end of Week 7, a team led by Matt Cassel will lead the division at 3-3. The Eagles' offense won't match Carolina's toughness on Sunday night, meaning the Cowboys could be in first place with a win in New York. Picking the Cowboys isn't about Cassel, although we expect him to show more than Brandon Weeden did for three weeks. It's a pick against the Giants' non-existent pass rush, and the offensive line that showed cracks last week. The Dallas front seven suddenly looks very dangerous with DeMarcus Lawrence, Greg Hardy, Tyrone Crawford, Rolando McClain and Sean Lee all playing at high level. It will be enough to win another ugly NFC East game in East Rutherford. -- Gregg Rosenthal

Cassel must put forth his best game in the Meadowlands for us to outpoint a Giants offense that should be extremely determined to make up for their pathetic game vs. Philly last Sunday. It figures to be an intense battle between the Giants' offense and our defense to gain the advantage in this contest.

Hopefully, our wounded offense will be able to somehow manage to uphold their part of the bargain as well. Our OL and the running game must improve measurably to provide us a fighting chance. Good luck to C-Mike in his "coming out party." Maybe a rested and healthier OL will help make that possible. It'll be tough but do-able.

Cassell can help a team that has recently won a few Super Bowls or has the #1 rushing offense in the league. Without that? Not so much.

Cassell is a busdruver and this bus has spent a significant amount of time in the shop.

This offense is hurt and it will take a great defensive effort to win until the stars make it back on the field.
