Not sure this has been mentioned before. I just happened to be watching the Sunday countdown and they asked who were there candidates for COY. Well Steve basically said if he can get the boys in the playoffs then he should win. Mike agreed.

I'm of the notion that he should. With the amount of adversity facing the team: new scheme, 10 rooks, a bunch of 1st and 2nd year players, and the Drew B reclamation project. He'll deserve every vote he gets.

I couldnt agree more, i think BP has done a helluva job grocery shopping!! If we dont at least get a wild card bid this year, ill be very dissapointed. But at the same time, I think it will be a tough road, and if we make it, BP is COY.

I think he is a sure thing if we win a playoff game. Otherwise you never know what will happen. Especially if the hall of shame voters are united.

Parcells coach of the year? Then Jones is the MVP, Larry Allen is comeback player of the year, Glover is defensive player of the year, and ...well, you get my point. What a stupid post.
I didn't think it was stupid thought, otherwise, I wouldn't have posted. I don't have a history of doing such things.

The thought behind it, was if he should even be considered. And to add to the initial post was what would it take to even make it happen. It wasn't about Glover, Jones or anybody else you brought up.

I would agree WG......That is alot of adversity to overcome. If he wins a playoff game then Big Bill has a good chance of winning the Coach of the Year Honors.

I have one reservation..If Little Bill wins his 3rd straight Super Bowl then we could probably assume he walks away with the honor.

Another coach that would be considered, pending the outcome of the Cardinal season, would be Dennis Green.

Good Post....WG Interesting subject.

...the playoffs, then he should be considered COY. If the Cowboys start all 10 rookies by the midway point of the season and get a winning record he should be GM of the year.

If they achieve both a winning record and playoffs with the ten rooks in the starter's line up then he should clean up all the awards for on and off field management.

How he didn't win one in 2003 is crazy. He had quincy, tham and galloway as his skill positions.

Hmm, I've of the opinion that, with all the positive additions this off season, if they do not make the playoffs, then it is an absolutely terrible job of coaching. I'd expect most coaches to get this team to the playoffs. He'll certainly have to do a lot more than just make the playoffs to get coach of the year in my book. Unless there are a lot of major injuries, then there might be a case.

Seems so. Lettem' play the game and go from there. At this point, all of the coaches are candidates for COY.
