BP admitted that he allowed the Seattle offense to dicate what we do on offense.

This should be alarming to everyone that is remotely a fan. We are allowing opponents to tell US how to play the game.

This IS a recipe for disaster/mediocrity.

What was his statement? It was in response to a question asking whether he never turned Bledsoe loose was due to our o-line...he stated: "No, we were just trying to keep the Seattle offense off the field".

Why? They couldn't do squat anyway.

If anything, he should trust the defense as opposed to the offense anyway. Our defense has played excellent for the VAST most part. It has only been in the final minute or two that it unravels....however, a more aggresive offense game-plan would more than likely negate this problem.

Enough of us allowing Them to dictate to US how we should play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya know, this coach is turning out to be the ultimate one trick pony.

Yes, this game plan worked against Buffalo in the superbowl.

Uh, knock knock, any other game plans in that arsenal Bill or did Earhardt and Charlie Weiss take them all with them?

Offense is struggling and defense is playing great so who do you bet on to win the game for you?

The answer is obvious.

With the bad weather and the game being played in Seattle, BP had the right game plan for this one.

Funny, I thought that's what strategy was all about.

The strategy was a sound one. Our defense stopped an offensively powerful team keeping it out of the end zone for much of the game and giving our offense good field position.

40 seconds and everyone's questioning the strategy.

I guess if we had opened it up and Bledsoe had thrown 4 INTs, we'd be complaining about how we didn't run the ball.

I think fans are a little bit spoiled by the Eagles game. The Eagles are a one-dimensional team with no running game. Shut their passing game down, shut the Eagles down.

We didn't want to give a strong offense like Seattle to have the ball on our side of the 50.

Again, we win this game and few except for the totally disgruntled are complaining about this game or the strategy Parcells employed.

You know our defense may not be as good as we thought, it seems teams know that they too can play conservitavely, knowing that we will not open it up offensively. All they have to do is play close and try to win it in the end. So far it has worked, except for the Eagles. They thought they could play that way, but BP surprised them and opened it up early and often.

Ding ding ding. Had we executed better and had the refs called a better game (I normally never blame refs, but ***?), we would have took this. The gameplan was fine.

OK...even though I dont agree, I'll give you this.

But then explain the play calling on that final pass by Bledsoe.

Bill....is a spin doctor......

Weeks ago he stated that he will not let the offence dictate what our defence runs....

IMHO he bascially doesn't want to tell the media and his players that he bascially plays not to lose instead of trying to win.....We ate that bullsh@t when Carter was here and didn't have enought talent......now it seems we have some talent and the philosophy continues.....Bill is living in the dark ages......Field position game plan will only make you a .500 ball club....

I've already answered that. That's not bad playcalling, that's bad execution. I actually thought I saw Price open. However, open or not, there's no reason to force anything to Glenn when you see that coverage. Throw the ball away, take a sack, something. We could have taken it to overtime and played it out there. The playcalling isn't the risk (considering he does not have to throw anything), the execution was just horrible.

Ah come on now Hoodsie...

How can you say that it is a good play when at best you're left with a FG that is so long the chances are even a good kicker would be way out of range, let alone the one we have.

The risk/gain equation was way out of whack on that play.

With the way most of the O line was NOT playing, counting on the O for much would have been a mistake. We ran the ball which did ok- but the D could not make the big plays when it counted- just like the O couldn't.

LOL...now we have fans that enjoy their own team getting told how to play by the opposition.

This is getting rich.

ONE time when we didn't do that was when we played the Eagles.....surprise surprise, look at how that ended up.

Go ahead....enjoy being dictated to. Unbelievable.

That's a real good point, but with Glenn and Price, and considering our sucess before, don't you think airing it out is at least worth a shot? Shoot, hope for a PI, if anything. I'm not saying I agree with the call, but shouldn't the coach be able to work for a last second scoring drive assuming his QB will do the right thing and not give up the ball (knowing the game is on the line). It was just a foolish; no chance throw.

Jim is 100% dead on.

Maybe you play a game to keep the other team's offense off the field *last year* against a strong offense when the D was melting down every single week. But when you've got a defense that's played as well as it has this year, you score as many points as you can on offense and then let your defense play. Why do you have to protect them so often? In 2003 the excuse was the tired old "they're undersized and they might wear down" theory. What's the excuse now with bigger players, more depth for rotation up front, and more talent overall?

I just hate the idea that you let the other team dictate what you do to that large an extent. What about going out and imposing your will on the other team. Why not make them react to us?

Prior to the holding call, maybe. With a time out left, maybe.

My problem is that it's totally inconsistent with everything he did for the entire game. Throw the ball there but go for the FG instead of a TD on the second to last drive?

I just don't "get" his thinking. Often.
