Cole Beasley
Beasley is currently battling for the No. 4 wide receiver position and greatly helped his chances with his showing in Oakland. The SMU product caught three passes for 49 yards and recorded a touchdown against the Raiders.
Unfortunately for Beasley, injury struck again during the contest, as he suffered sprained ligaments in his left foot. It's believed he will be ready to go in time for the Cardinals game, but one has to wonder if he'll be 100 percent.
Regardless of how healthy his foot is, Beasley has to have another solid outing if he wants to beat out Anthony Armstrong, Dwayne Harris and Danny Coale.
He doesn't necessarily have to catch an 80-yard touchdown pass to impress his coaches. If he shows he can play banged up and contribute as needed, he'll better his chances of winning his camp battle.
B.W. Webb
Unlike Beasley, Webb did not flourish against the Raiders. His play was scrutinized by head coach Jason Garrett after the loss. The rookie is trying to challenge veteran Orlando Scandrick for the No. 3 cornerback job and needs to erase the Oakland game from Garrett's memory.
The best way for Webb to achieve that goal is to make sure he learns from his mistakes against the Raiders. The Oakland quarterbacks picked on Webb after quickly realizing he wasn't having the best of nights in coverage.
Given this will be just his third NFL game, one can't expect a shutdown performance from Webb, but he needs to show he learned from his earlier mistakes. I'm on record as saying Webb likely won't best Scandrick for the No. 3 corner job and he has little hope of proving me wrong with another poor showing.
Joseph Randle
As ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins has reported, Randle currently sits fourth in line for reps during training camp practices. That doesn't leave the rookie with a lot of opportunities to make noise on the practice field.
If Randle wants to secure his position as DeMarco Murray's backup, the best chances to make his case are during preseason matchups.
Against Miami, he posted 70 yards on 13 carries. Not too bad for a rookie in his first NFL game. The Oakland game was a different story however, as Randle rushed for just 16 yards on eight carries. He did score a touchdown against the Raiders, which was easily the highlight of that game for Randle.
Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner have been giving Randle a tough camp battle throughout the offseason and will likely continue to do so. The Oklahoma State product cannot simply coast into the backup running back role.
Randle has to make the most of the fact he's about to face the NFL's 28th-ranked rush defense in 2012. If he doesn't, it's likely Tanner or Dunbar will.
