The Dallas Cowboys proved to be road warriors during the 2014 regular season, with an 8-0 record away from AT&T Stadium.
But Sunday morning, they will travel to arguably the NFL's toughest postseason environment in January, Lambeau Field, where an improving Green Bay Packers defense will attempt to slow the career seasons that Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray have put together.
Romo's completion percentage of 69.9 on the season was a career high. He also threw 34 touchdowns to just nine interceptions in the regular season. Last weekend against the Detroit Lions, he added to that accuracy with two more touchdowns and no interceptions.
Romo's passer rating of 113.2 is the highest among all NFL quarterbacks.
Bryant’s regular-season total of 1,320 yards marked the second-most of his career, and his 16 touchdowns were his most ever.
Over Wild Card Weekend, even the NFL's top run defense in Detroit couldn't stop Murray from gaining 75 yards rushing, 22 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Green Bay's defense won't be able to commit entirely to stopping the run or to rushing Romo but will need to employ a strategy that prevents Dallas' passing game and ground game from gashing it. Meanwhile, Dallas' weak secondary faces an extremely tough matchup against the Packers' top receiving duo of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.
If Dallas wins Sunday, it will face the Seattle Seahawks at home in the NFC Championship Game. If they are able to win at Lambeau, the Cowboys have a legitimate shot at winning at CenturyLink Field too.
