Bryant is entering the final year of his rookie contract and will be looking for a long-term deal. The wide receiver and the organization had been negotiating a new contract, but Bryant shut down discussions when the regular season began, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:
Bryant will make a hefty sum with his next contract after blossoming into a top star over his first five seasons in the NFL. In 67 career games with Dallas, Bryant has 341 receptions for 4,724 yards and 45 touchdowns.
At just 25 years old (he will be 26 on Nov. 4), Bryant is a game-changer and a building block that could lead the Cowboys franchise into the future.
With other key players like Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray in place, retaining Bryant as a top wideout would certainly help keep Dallas' offense potent in the coming seasons.
